so i can stop gaying up the other threads about it

this is seriously great. the only reason i'm here to post about it is that the servers are offline for another 2 minutes while it patches.

Here is the basic formula:

Fallout 3
- 20% graphics
+ MUCH bigger map
+ cities with a population > 10
+ crafting, so you can use all the tons of shit you loot
+ vehicles
+ flipping off chickens
+ roleplay (fuck you)
+ WAY more weapons, clothing, etc
+ less crashing, lol

for some reason, this guy doesn't have ragdoll, but otherwise this is more or less a video of the entire tutorial

towns generally run like shit, but outside of towns runs great (even like, 5 feet outside of towns)

10,000 Volt Ghost Oct 5th, 2009 05:20 PM

I might buy it LATER LATER LATER. Have to check my home computer to see if it will run.

captain516 Oct 5th, 2009 06:51 PM

I'll consider it.

kahljorn Oct 5th, 2009 10:04 PM

from what ive read y ou pretty much need a dual core processor but you can get them pretty cheap now a days ;/

maybe itll run on lower stuff though

Chojin Oct 6th, 2009 12:08 AM

it runs better than aoc does on my PC

generally towns run like complete ass (5-10 fps), and then as soon as you get out it goes up to 60.

kahljorn Oct 6th, 2009 12:21 AM

Dr. Boogie Oct 7th, 2009 01:37 AM

All the screenshots I've seen are of deserts and ruined cities. Is there more variance to the environments?

Chojin Oct 7th, 2009 02:41 AM

Chojin Oct 7th, 2009 03:03 AM

Chojin Oct 7th, 2009 04:26 AM

Oh my fucking god, you guys.

The project manager for Fallen Earth uses a MARATHON LOGO for his forum avatar.

I don't know what I did to deserve any of this, but I'll take it.

OxBlood Oct 7th, 2009 05:02 AM

It does look nice, but not worth paying a monthly fee for (but then again which MMO is). F2P and I´d be downloading already.

Chojin Oct 8th, 2009 06:28 AM

I just made a video

not gonna embed it since you can't embed in HD

Fathom Zero Oct 8th, 2009 10:03 AM

Not without super HTML powers anyway. :(

The quality is still good.

Dimnos Oct 8th, 2009 11:23 AM

bigtimecow Oct 8th, 2009 01:03 PM

Chojin Oct 8th, 2009 03:59 PM

(2:52:36 PM) Chojin (AIM): so i'm in this mutant-infested underground base
(2:52:59 PM) Chojin (AIM): i go to the elevator up, then turn around to see this guy and girl together, running away form like 20 mutants
(2:53:16 PM) Chojin (AIM): I quickly press the elevator button, and the guy gets in, and the door slams in the girl's face
(2:53:26 PM) Chojin (AIM): on the long ride up, i turn to the guy and say "Plenty of fish in the sea."
(2:53:37 PM) Chojin (AIM): Then he does an emote where he slaps his knee
(2:56:46 PM) Guitar Woman (AIM): hahahaha
(2:57:10 PM) Chojin (AIM): stone cold, that guy

Dimnos Oct 8th, 2009 04:02 PM

Wish I had the $50 for this game this month. Maybe November. :lol

Zomboid Oct 8th, 2009 04:16 PM

Think I need to get this. I loooove Post-Apocalyptic games, and this looks awesome. Only thing is, I've never played an MMORPG, so it might be hard to get into.

Tadao Oct 8th, 2009 04:34 PM

Not true Zomboid, what is hard is trying to find time away from it. I want to play, but I have too many things going on right now.

Chojin Oct 9th, 2009 06:17 AM

I think it swings both ways, like Guitar Woman - MMOs are hard to get into, but if they grip you they don't let go.

Maybe smoking is a better analogy.
