CURSE YOU VICE CITY!!! CURSE YOU!!!!

AS you or may not have read, I bought GTAIII a few months ago and couldn't get the bitch to work. I think it's because it doesn't support windows NT, and despite having Windows 2000, it says it's "built on NT technology"

So I bought VC, assuming they had fixed the problem. But they haven't. I get the same error message. And I even downloaded System pack 3 AND re-installed it to my C:\ drive. But to no avail.

Curse you Vice City! CURSE YOU!!!!!

Go back to Windows 98, or upgrade to XP Pro. Win2K was shite. :(

I certainly have visted the webiste and got all the patches I can.

But I really think it's because in the manual it says "Windows NT is not supported"

And I got a copy of Blood 2 (stop laughing!) from Ebay and that won't run and gets an error saying "NT not supported"

Consequently, I conclude that Bill gates is lying.

Now I'm getting a second hard drive onto which I will install 98, and all my pre-NT retro games, and dual boot the bastard.

you've gotta be shitting me :lol

GTA3 works perfect for me... 2000 is the most stable OS i've found. 98 is outdated and XP constantly crashed my games

Um, ME is the worst one since 95. By fucking far. 2k's generally a piece of shit when it comes to games, and 98's a piece of shit when it comes to having a computer that doesn't crash. XP is the only Windows that's worth having a computer for.

Ninjavenom Jun 30th, 2003 04:37 AM

I'm running a 98 and i can count on one hand the number of times this computer has crashed on me. :D

Spasmolytic Jun 30th, 2003 03:04 PM

pretty much everything i ran on XP can run as well or better on 2000

Rock on.

Finally got my new hard drive and after two weeks of trying to install 98, eventuly cracked it.

98 was getting confused because it didn't realise there were TWO hard drives in this machine, and couldn't actually detect the second. So I outsmarted Bill Gates and simply unplugged the first hard drive (also making sure I didn't accidently format the first drive in the process) and installed 98 on the second drive. Mwahahahaa!!!! Now I can select which drive to boot from in the BIOS, and both GTA3 and VC run just fine!

Blood 2 still doesn't work though. But that's probably because it's shite :(

whoreable Jul 14th, 2003 08:53 AM

yea, 98 cant recognize a ntfs drive.

i have my drive on FAT32 and i have three OSes running on it, on one partition. ZS keeps giving me doomsday prophecies abotu it, but i've never had a problem with multi-booting on a single partition.
