NOISE ROCK LURRVE (esp. Boredoms)

LET'S GET SOME NOISE ROCK LURRVE UP IN THIS BITCH

mainly this band Boredoms i just came across. japanese people with fantastic tribal drumming and minimalism. i also saw some videos on youtube of them performing with 77 drummers

;D

Angryhydralisk Oct 25th, 2008 12:21 AM

I just wanna say Vision Creation Newsun is a real trip. And that I swear I posted about the 77BOADRUMS last year. By the way they're putting that out as a DVD/2CD set for 77 bucks.

As for noise rock, as long as it's good noise and not Merzbow, I'm fine. Give me the Boredoms and Guitar Wolf and Acid Mothers Temple and what not.

bigtimecow Oct 25th, 2008 12:26 AM

merzbow i can appreciate, but i'd rather listen to something with a bit of rhythm rather than chaotic harsh noise, so i'm with you there. what IS interesting though, is live harsh noise performance when they do more than just sit behind a table with a bunch of electronics. like when people use power drills and break shit

actually, this band twodeadsluts onegoodfuck from boston gets nude and basically has sex with their amps and shit. it's awesome. oh and cock ESP just wrestles

Krythor Oct 25th, 2008 02:45 PM

Listen to Merzbow Vs. Alec Empire.

And the best Boredoms album is Chocolate Synthesizer.

sloth Oct 25th, 2008 09:17 PM

i knew angry fucking hydralisk would be first to start waving his cock around in this thread

noise is noise, its not about producing an aesthetic and as soon as people start talking about "good noise" youve turned it into another bloggers big soapy tit wank.

saying that, the boadrums business was an amazing, inspired idea and i read that everyone who was there had some kind of transcendental experience. which makes me really mad that i couldnt be part of it.

Tadao Oct 25th, 2008 09:35 PM

Zoogz Rift is noisy. But not the kind of noise you fags like. I bet you guys go see Stomp perform and buy a tshirt.

fags.

Angryhydralisk Oct 25th, 2008 10:50 PM

Soooooo does that mean if I was a book, I;d be easy to read and yet it makes your ears hurt?

And speaking of tit wank...ever listen to Keiji Haino?

Krythor Oct 26th, 2008 08:32 PM

'77 Live by Les Rallizes Denudes is a good album but you'd have to get it bootlegged.

sspadowsky Oct 27th, 2008 03:57 AM

I recommend Barkmarket to you young whippersnappers.

sspadowsky Nov 5th, 2008 08:21 AM

BARKMARKET. youtube 'em, you goddamn heathens.

so you don't want to hear someone's opinion on noise in fears that it will turn into some hipster fad?

sloth, seriously, what the fuck are you talking about. there are many different kinds of noise; merzbow is very very loud and static-like, whereas there are artists such as can't who bases all of her noise around little squeaks

those are horrible descriptions of their individual sound, but really, i can't agree with you that "noise is noise"

Krythor Nov 7th, 2008 12:24 AM

I DESPISE any persons argument where it is essentially "this is the definition of this, and if you say this, then that is no longer this." Does the person want to hear it or not?

I agree with bigtimecow. Semantics and labelling is the most horrifying crime of modern humanity and I cannot stand people who (in this case) pick apart someone's honest interest just to stand on their high horse.

bigtimecow Nov 13th, 2008 09:21 AM

thanks Krythor! :love

Krythor Nov 13th, 2008 09:54 AM

I was drunk, but I stand by it.

liquidstatik Nov 15th, 2008 02:55 AM

..

MetalMilitia Nov 23rd, 2008 07:40 PM

I've been listening to a bit of drone metal recently which is pretty cool.

Angryhydralisk Nov 24th, 2008 10:20 AM

I never imagined that Jesu would sound like a mix of Godflesh and Mono. I think I'll go get some!

And speaking of noise and generally average fucks "revolutionizing"...

Krythor Nov 25th, 2008 11:03 AM

In the last year I have moved to a part of Britain that gets no gigs whatsoever, so imagine my pain when I found this cruel November that the same night I had bought tickets to see Built to Spill in Bristol, Acid Mothers Temple were playing here. What are the odds?

When I was living in Cardiff and I would go see any band that was average or better, I bought tickets to Arcade Fire and then found out that Boredoms were playing ten minutes away on the same night. I wanted to cry.

Where at? Somehow I find this impossible to believe, because while you live in a shit town, at least you're getting SOME bands.

MetalMilitia Nov 26th, 2008 10:43 AM

My guess is in the South. No well known bands ever make it past Bristol.

Krythor Nov 26th, 2008 01:46 PM

Yeah, the South West. It is awful.

MetalMilitia Nov 26th, 2008 02:07 PM

I used to live in the South West. Somewhere called Frome, about 10 miles out of Bath. It was shit.

Krythor Nov 26th, 2008 06:50 PM

I have quite a few friends from Frome; at least that's relatively close to Bristol. I'm near Land's End for God's sake.

Cap'n Crunch Dec 30th, 2008 02:22 AM
