Your favorite comic writer/artist writer collaborations thread

What runs by a certain writer and artis in a comic book serieshave you found to be memorable and classic? The Chris Claremont/ John Byrne collaboration with the Uncanny X-Men during the late 70's was a combination of deep story telling and great artwork for its time (and still holds up today), but I would say my favorite pairing was the short-lived run with Jim Lee and Chris Claremont on the first three issues of X-Men (volume.2), which made for a great start to the newer series.

Pretty much anything with Grant Morrisson and Frank Quitely. Warren Ellis and John Cassaday's run on Planetary, and Mark Millar and Brian Hitch's collaborations are always great as well.

Steve Dillon and Garth Ennis on Preacher. Dillon fits really well with Ennis, I don't know for some reason his work just doesn't fit well with alot of people, case in point wolverine origins.

On the subject of Morrison and Quitely, We3 was gorgeous!

I like Morrison with Steve Yeowell also, (Sebastion O, The Invisibles)

Alot of people worked on The Invisibles but I liked Yeowell's artwork the best on it, whereas the worst would have to be Ashley Wood

Mabye I rushed into that one too fast, but I thought he did a pretty decent job, especially after the Unslaught incident. What's so bad about him anyways?

Hey, to each their own! I just always felt he was kind of a generic superhero writer...I mean, he's not BAD (see Chuck Austin), but I never considered him to be particularly memorable.
