In Del's defence, it wasn't him; it was the MC that he runs with, Bukue One. And I didn't go with her, she was just the only attractive woman there, and I thought I had a foot in the door after she commented on how well I danced after putting her arms around my neck and pulling me in close. Apparently free stickers and wearing someone's sweaty hat is enough to give up your chance of true happiness and devotion.

The show was awesome though, and the DJ stuck around afterwards and played a lot of funk, gave me some free CDs and sold me some of his vinyl. Del and posse really know their stuff, so hats off to them.

so basically both of these bands that I mentioned here last year were both to perform this summer in my area - and both cancelled. however, the submarines came back, feeling bad, and decided to put on a free show for us tonight which was literally right across the street from my apartment. It was dead empty - but they were beyond amazing and they are two of the nicest people i've ever met and they took both of my requests - so I love them even more now! they are still touring around the country this summer so you guys should definitely check them out. they're kinda girly but still so much fun!


also going to see cut copy, ra ra riot, the weepies, starfucker, arctic monkeys, friendly fires & girl talk, if anyone else is catching one of those tours before me then lemme know whatcha think!

Arctic Monkeys were boring and played very little hip hop - if any.

Might be going to FunFunFun Fest in November, mainly just to see the Murder City Devils since the last time I saw them was 2003 when they first 'broke up'. The singer was too drunk to do a lot of singing but overall it was a good show. It'll be the 5th time I'll be seeing them live if I do go. (if it's too expensive, I'm gonna say fuck it)

Watching foxy shazam sing dragula was awesome. Aggrolites acoustic show right before also was awesome.

I saw The Gene Ween Band at the Woodstock Film Festival last night. It was him and there bassist doing an acoustic show in a small bar. He played great but he looks really bad for being 40.
