I can never get to sleep.

For the past four days I have been going to sleep around four or five a.m. everyday. Today I woke up around 3:45, and when I saw the clock, I started laughing. I thought the clock was wrong, but it was really 3:45 in the afternoon. I really need some sleep at the right time.

Does anyone have any good ways of getting to sleep earlier?

Esuohlim Jun 23rd, 2003 01:00 AM

I got really messed up last summer. For about three weeks I was going to bed at six or seven in the morning and getting up at five in the afternoon. :(

Here's what you do: Stock up on highly caffeinated pop (SODA >:) or energy drinks (or coffee, if you're into that crap) and stay up all night. Do something like playing video games or read, but don't watch TV 'cause that makes you tired. Stay up all night, and then all day. Every time you feel like going to sleep, fight it, and have another sugar-packed beverage. Once you've stayed up until evening the next day, you can reward yourself with sleep. You'll probably sleep more than twelve hours, you'll wake up around nine in the morning, and your internal clock will be reset as desired.

This method has worked for me on three separate occasions. I recommend it. But staying up late is fun anyway. :/

OMG Milhouse backwards that is so fucking true. The best, most refreshing nights of sleep ever come after I stay up all night. And it is fun, and I always get caught up with a lot of work because I have a lot more energy than normal. :(

I always have trouble falling asleep. Unless I actually do something that day. If I don't do anything all day, I can't sleep unless I take NyQuil. I think I'm addicted. :(

my night shift job begins at 10 pm and ends at 6 am, i have to drive for 1 hour to pick up a printer from my parent's house. I stayed there until like 9 and then had a 2 hour drive to Chicago. I went to bed at 11 am, i woke up today at 7 pm. Life is good.

I've done that, and it really works. Especially around New Years Eve/New Year's Day, but I've replaced soda and caffeine with cocaine. :/

Cap'n Crunch Jun 23rd, 2003 03:17 AM

Yeah Thulsa, sure you do cocaine. I mean, you like in Vice City for crying out loud!

I am actually going to take advice from Milhouse, meaning I am going to be on here all night.

I go to bed and fall asleep between 2-3am and wake up around 7am. I dunno how I don't just pass out at work. Especially after classes on tuesday and thursdays too. And I've still got the site to run. And I've still got this latest club pack in the works. And I've still got to shoot myself.

Nice going, Milhouse :<

I'm a pussy. I go to sleep around 11:30. But after school's out I stay up until 1:30...

Jeanette X Jun 23rd, 2003 01:15 PM

1. Read a really dull book. It will calm your mind and help you to fall asleep.

2. Do not take naps during the day if you avoid it.

3. Only use the bed for sleeping and sex.

4. If you get in bed, and lay there for ten minutes, get up for a while and then go back to sleep.

Rongi Jun 23rd, 2003 03:34 PM

I find that after uh..."choking the chicken", I lose all my energy and fall right asleep :(

Poxpower Jun 23rd, 2003 04:55 PM

Yeah, I'm completely fucked up. I think I'll go to sleep at around 6pm tonight.
The tomorrow, I might go to sleep at 8 pm, and then 10pm, and so on for the whole summer. Unless I get back on my "got to sleep at 9am wake up at 7"...

Cap'n Crunch Jun 23rd, 2003 04:57 PM

I stayed up all night, and I am very tired. I am sure I will get to sleep tonight, because I fell asleep on my keyboard for 10 minutes.

Les Waste Jun 23rd, 2003 06:14 PM

It's really hard to stay up all day after not sleeping the night before, but it's worth it. If you fall asleep too early, you'll wake up at like 2 or 3 in the morning and your sleep schedule gets way more fucked up than it was originally.

Drugs always work. Nyquil, sleeping pills, booze, pot, whatever.

Generator86 Jun 23rd, 2003 06:56 PM

Just drink a lot. Works for me every time.

The Retro Kat Jun 23rd, 2003 07:42 PM

Maybe the problem is you need to pry your hands off your cock, or on, either way, it does work.

punkgrrrlie10 Jun 23rd, 2003 09:22 PM

I usually take some benadryl when I can't sleep. Takes about half an hour to knock me out.

Sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night when it wears off but then I stay up the rest of the night like everyone else suggested and sleep well the next night.

Anonymous Jun 24th, 2003 08:27 AM

Actually a sure way of falling asleep is by slitting your wrists open. Of course there's that whole messy clean up in the morning.

Esuohlim Jun 24th, 2003 09:22 AM

Straight from the the Outer reaches of your MIND. *wiggles fingers*

>:

kellychaos Jun 24th, 2003 12:03 PM

My mind had no "outer reaches". This is pretty much it. :/

GnrySgtHartman Jun 24th, 2003 12:23 PM

Holy shit, nice post count.
