Fuck yeah. Dave Lombardo was the best drummer Slayer had. Sucks that the entire band hates him now...

It's funny how he's back with the band.

In case you didn't know...

Lombardo still plays drums, he plays in Phantomas, Mike Patton's newer-but-not-quite-so-new-anymore band, along with the bassist for Mr. Bungle (Trevor Dunn) and Buzz Osbourne from the Melvins.

Sean Reinert, Dave Lombardo, Gene Hoglan, etc. Then and now. But Reinert kills them all, especially in the "then" category.

Then--either Ken Owen from Carcass or Pete Sandoval from Morbid Angel.

Now--Nick from Kataklysm (Temple of Knowledge only) and the guy from Pig Destroyer. Sorry, I can't remember his name at the moment.

What do they all have in common? Speed AND technicality. Why choose just one?

Also, once again, although they probably don't fall under the category of metal, Jord from Propagandhi is fucking incredible.

There's nothing wrong with Blastbeats. A metronome blast is a different kind of blast beat the Kataklysm like to employ. There's one kick for every four snare hits. Makes it easier to headbang to.

But Reinert kills them all, especially in the "then" category

Reinert is too good. It's pretty scary.

But let us not forget the man:
