Ar Tonelico 2. God why the fuck is this game rated "6 and up" here? The whole thing is full of innuendos...don´t wanna know how a...let´s say a 12-year old can play this thing without going "hurr hurr...boobies" every 5 minutes...
Apart from that it´s a really good game actually, I´m suprised. Interesting story and the whole "curing a female nutcase"-mechanic is strangely appealing. Honestly, most of the game´s appeal comes from the two female leads being...unnecessarily complex...like many women are. Only in real life, your girl doesn´t develop deadly magical powers when you sort her messed up mind out with her... But still what´s up with that innuendo-thing...really wasn´t necessary... |
lol OxBlood, you should see the shit they show children in America. Nothing but transvestism, lewd jokes, and other innuendo that kids normally don't get but will repeat. No wonder so many of them are having children at the age of 12 lmao.
I've been playing Sega Superstars Tennis on the wii, and I'm baffled. It's....fantastic! The motion controls and the traditional controls are very accurate, and there is a lot of room for high level play. I never thought I'd say that about a game featuring Sonic and Ulala with tennis racquets. |
Ah well, our youth is fucked up beyond belief too, don´t worry. I already feel like a grumpy old man and I´m not even 30...tsk...
Concerning Ar Tonelico, I was forced to pick one of the two girls and play "her" version of the story...chose the stuck up royal bitch. Why? Because she didn´t lie to me for the first 9 hours of the game. If there´s one thing I can´t stand, it´s emotional betrayal, be it real life or part of a fictional story. Then again, I can now apparently amplify my girls songpower via kick-ass-space-laser-station-thingy...sure, why not. Or use her fanclub for bonusses...or...equip those gals...don´t know how they equip them but it works. |
Getting back into TF2 now that I'm not butthurt about THAT FUCKING HAT.
Had a pretty amazing Spy run last night. It's been awhile since I had a good game running Spy. |
I have to somehow transfer all my saves onto a new xbox. Do I need a giant sd card?
USB stick. 1 GB should hold ALL of your saves. As far as downloadable content... not so much of that. Although, I do have Ikaruga on mine, so I can play it at anybody's house.
Just detatch your HDD?
That won't work. Unless you have a transfer cable.
Take your HDD off one xbox and plug it into the new one doesnt work? Worked fine for back at christmas.
And it didn't for me. :\
it worked for me but every arcade game i had was now a trial unless i was constantly connected to xbox live
You need to transfer the licenses to your new console. Or be logged in.
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/sy...ensemigration/ I had to dig deep to find that. |
thanks for that dude
No prob. It PISSED ME OFF.
Gauntlet Legends! Who knew power leveling on the N64 could be so epic?

dark legacy is the one for cube dreamcast and ps2?
^yeah.
I heard that that one sucked because they didn't upgrade any of the sounds or graphics lol. Man, Gauntlet Legends brings back a lot of good memories.
I heard Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows was pretty bad.
Is Midway dead yet? They really ran that company into the fucking ground after the N64 era.
I'm playin' some Neo Geo. Good lord is it fantastic! |
They died. :\
I think they got bought out by some other company. I could be wrong though.
I'm pretty sure that's what happened. How else could there be more Mortal Kombat stuff?
warner brothers bought them and gave them a new name netherrealm studios
They actually look like they'll do good work now, so I'm happy. It's gonna be a good year for them, Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam, and I think they have another title coming out too. It's nice to see companies start going back to what made games so much fun in the past.
I was thinking about getting Castlevania: HD on xbox live. My friend says its a lot of fun to play but every review I read is terrible.
The new multiplayer one?
yeah, its looks kind of fun. There's only 6 levels though, and no exp system. just go through said level, collect equipment/weapons/powerups then go and kill the boss.
Why do they say its terrible?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castlev...pair#Reception
I can't link the sites directly right now but the wiki entry says:
Basically that its like a BASIC BASIC BASIC version of castlevania is really short but with multiplayer. Also its 1200 points. |
There's a lot not explained to you. In the demo, I had to remember how to use Alucard's powers, and even then, the buttons are mixed up.
The main thing is that there's no feedback for anything you do. |
It sucks. The end.
I'd like it more with more people. But right now, it's only myself. :(
Yea, I hear it's pretty abysmal by yourself. Also only 5 characters for 6 players. Woo! :lol
I think I'm gonna give God Hand a shot. I hear both amazing and horrible things about it, and since I can emulate it now I won't have to drive three towns over to buy a used copy. Anyone else play it? |
They said they would add more characters if you give them more money.
NO THANKS! :D |
Soma Cruz is supposed to be coming to it.
soma, shanoa, jonathan, alucard and the girl that helps jonathan are the characters in the game right now
Charlotte. How could you forget their names? They said it all the time in Portrait of Ruin when you changed characters.
CHARLOTTE! JOHNATHAN! Yea they were pretty generic. Sometimes I'd just hammer the change button just to loop that. I don't know why. Actually I liked that game the most of the DS ones. Wasn't too hard, had lots of different locations. Just needed better artwork. Ecclesia was too hard :( |
I don't pay any attenention to Castlevania most of the time. Must have meant Maria.
The rumor is that the first DLC adds Maria and Julius Belmont to the game. Why Julius and not, say, Richter? No idea.
I've been playing it because I'm a sucker for Castlevania. Every seems pretty balanced. The stages themselves aren't too tough, but then you get to the bosses, and things get rough. In particular, the Puppet Master is total BS. Dracula wishes he had a no-miss attack that takes nearly half your life. I'm finding that I just cannot play as anyone but Shanoa for the tougher levels. From the get-go, her starting spells are just so goddamn powerful, they only get stronger when you use them, and most have ridiculous range to boot. Compare this to guys like Soma who are getting weapons that do as much damage as Shanoa's spells do at the beginning of the game, toward the end of the game. The downside: I've nearly completed the game, and I've only found four other glyphs for her (that is, her weapons and spells). Kind of a bummer when you consider the other characters getting dozens of new weapons and such. |

edit: Double post lag

I played the demo for Castlevania HD last night and it wasn't too bad. I might get it and play tonight.
I'm having fun with the demo. I'll probably be snagging it sometime.
I wasn't impressed with the demo.
i got brutal legend and like the macdonalds add says i'm loving it

Me neither but I just bought it after watching the more favorable Gametrailers-Review. So far itīs actually pretty fun. Itīs some kind of mutated bastard-child of the two big Castlevania-Eras, Pre-Sotn and Post-Sotn. Thereīs no real leveling-by-killing for all characters but Jonathan for example gets stronger by hitting things with his sub-weapons, same for Shanoa. Charlotte improves by blocking projectiles, Soma does his usual soul-stuff, so he too must kill shit to get stronger, even though he is more reliant on loot, as is Alucard who must get his Dark Magic stuff and weapons from drops. I like the challenge, even though I canīt kill old man Dracula solo yet...so no hard-mode with good loot for me. The negative things about C-HD are the way some of the characters level (if you want quick results at least) and some of the item-restrictions. You can only have one kind of healing-item with you and of that a maximum of three (high potions heal 60HP, most Chars have around 300 HP max, Super Potions heal the whole team to full but only one can be carried and they cost 5000 gold). If one player dies on coop, he turns into a skeleton that can still walk and jump around but has a very weak attack. Should he die again, you lose 3 or 4 minutes of time (I think). Reviving is done by opening a blue chest which always contain waters of life. You can carry it in addition to your other healing item but only one water can be carried at a time. Use it on the skeleton and presto, 100% health for your buddy. Not really a negative point because it fits the overall challenge rather well but some people might not like it. And itīs a coop-game first and foremost. Iīve only played it with one other person yet but itīs a lot more fun with other people than it is alone. All in all I like it, even though itīs not what I first expected or wanted. |
Playing with six people is fucking chaos. Sam, Bill, and I were playing with dudes last night and it was nuts. Beat Dracula's ass, though. I'm just fucking blowing playing hard mode alone, though.
I´d help you but I haven´t beaten Drac yet on normal :D
His third form is a total bitch.
Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, Mortal Kombat 2, and Ninja Gaiden on the NES. It's one of those retro days lol.

mafia 2 demo is out if anybody is interested on all platforms pc using steam 360 and ps3

Downloaded Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Man, that game is frustrating, and not in a good way. I prefer Castle Crashers to be honest. Moving is just really slow, and attacks never seem to connect as often as they should. Plus the enemies are just cheap. Good beat 'em ups like Turtles in Time were feasible solo, but this requires some grinding. Some parts of the game, like breaking down the doors in Lv 3, just couldn't be done as far as I could tell (unless I needed to level up or buy more stuff, but come on man.) None of the upgrades really feel meaningful, unlike Castle Crashers.
Oh, and lack of online co-op really sucks, but to make it worse, there's zero Drop-in or Drop-out function, so all four players need to be there, in the living room, from start to finish. They better patch this. At least the soundtrack is awesome, and it's got cute nods here and there to games and the comics, but the charm doesn't make the game much fun on your own, so you need to get other people to play with you if you want to enjoy it. |
Anamanaguchi does the soundtrack. Of course, it's gonna be good! :)
I really hope they release the soundtrack. They've been putting out bi-weekly singles of original songs and one of the tracks from the game was posted by O'Malley, but the song in level 3 is just stellar, and I'd like to give the whole thing a listen.

Still, I like it but itīs mainly the awesome looks that save it. |
Tried out Kane and Lynch 2 last night and it's wonderful. If you like realistic shooting, you'll like K&L2. It's very intense and the camera effect is great.
i tried the demo and i understand your complaints i wonder if the xbla version will have online i doubt it though
For games like that not to have online multiplayer is just dumb.
I just think if they couldn't include online, at least let players drop-in. Like every other arcade and console beat 'em up since...ever. I tried to get someone to jump in cause the game starts off really frustrating (level 2 anyone?) I do plenty of local multiplayer, but not everyone has the time to sit down and just beat a game in one sitting (the game saves your progress, but you still need to go back to the title screen if someone joins or leaves.) OH! And a warning for people playing Co-Op! Characters' stats are saved, but the stats are tied to an account! So if someone's playing as a guest, their stats won't be saved!
At least the game gets less frustrating when you start buying stuff, but you're too poor to afford anything at the start, so to actually have a chance at beating level three without dying, I had to replay the first level (it was impossible for me to break the walls fast enough to outrun Todd's psychic attack). Then after I bought some stuff, turned out I was TOO strong and the whole game became easy! When you get to level 14, you can go full retard while holding an item and not worry about being hit. At least on Average Joe. I'm playing through again now with a new character on the next difficulty. Oh, and the ending for Scott is...uh...wow. That's not how the book ended at all. Though I don't really like Ramona to be honest, so I kinda loved it. I'm curious to see what the others are. |
Just beat Kane & Lynch 2. I can't believe how fast I blew through it with the AI. Loved every moment of it.
have you guys tried monday night combat is sort of a 3rd person dota
Yeah, tried and bought it yesterday, I really like the gameshow-feel of it. It's a little dad that it doesnt have more content but still, a nice effort.
@Phoenix: I actually forgot that there were Stat-increasing items in the game...but yeah, after dying on Todd´s last phase I spent some time to buy all that stuff...Strenght 100 is really a little bit better than strenght 0 :D I´m at the final (?) Boss now and I´m kind of sad that I know almost nothing about the comic, something I intend to change next week. Seems to be great stuff. I imagine what my life would be like if it was 70% Videogame. Boss: "Mr. Ox, you´re fired!" Me: "I don´t think so, Boss! Let´s battle this out on top of THE PYRAMIDS! MAN-DEVIL! TRANSFORM! Even as a little kid I was sure that with a last name like that, I´d become some kind of superhero/villain one day :D Of course it sounds a lot cooler in english...man-devil...how cheesy. |
Scott's ending is really different from the books, FYI. In that it's not a god awful melodramatic mess.
ALSO SOME BITCH IN GODVILLE IS DUELING MY HERO. I'M NOT GONNA STAND FOR THIS HORSESHIT. GO KILL HER, JOE HERO >: |
I ordered the Scott Pilgrim Books yesterday, I wanna see what all the fuzz is about :D In english of course, I couldn´t read that stuff in german...same with Watchmen, I don´t wanna imagine how much flair it lost by translating it...
I really like the Support Guy in MNC, just ended the match by first killing a Jackbot with my Airstrikes, keeping the enemy bots in check with my little turret, then juicing up and blasting the Moneyball to pieces in Overtime :) |
The new Bioshock looks pretty sweet, I can't wait.
Has anyone gotten the 6 hidden items in Castlevania yet?
I got the bell and that one fucking thing that flew across the screen in the... fifth, I think.
And you can get the bell by yourself. |
I haven't found anything about what they do yet. I've gotten those two and people finally figured out the one in the piano room. I've been trying to get more martial arts and go through hard mode this week.
League of Legends - Free DOTA game.
I can even make it to the end of Chapter 1 with Alucard on Hard, by myself. Up until I start fighting the boss. Ugh.
I'm on level 2 hard mode but I played online with this Alucard who looked like he had a Crissaegram that just mowed through the level.
I just have the Estoc. Which is nice. Hits enemies twice.
I tried beating the puppet master on hard by myself yesterday and he was all like "NOPE. DEAD."
I'm at the same spot, and I have to say once again that the Puppet Master is a cheap fuck. And I'm told the Crissaegrim is a rare drop from Dracula on hard mode called the Valmanway.
Started Baldur's Gate compilation today. I've been thinking of playing it only on weekends, so the game should keep me occupied for quite some time.
Castlevania HD kinda lost it´s appeal for me, I don´t know why. Still playing some Monday Night Combat though I´m gonna focus my time on Ar Tonelico 2 again...finally done with Phase 2 which dragged on and on and...guh. The game is so weird but so good at the same time...kinda still want to play Suikoden 5...

Just played this free game called Which. It's probably the most scared I've ever been playing a video game, but I'm kind of a bitch, so I don't know if it'll creep you guys out as much. DEFINITELY play this with the lights off and with headphones.
http://gamejolt.com/freeware/games/a...re/which/1523/ Only takes a few minutes to play through once, and there are two endings depending on what you do in the third room. |
Bought some shitty B-Games for my trusty PS2 so now there´s Echo Night Beyond and Kuon waiting to be played after AT2 with Baroque still on the way...God, I love the PS2, never a dull moment with that thing.

Naw. It's too graphically sophisticated to be a flash game.
It only takes a sec. It's a zip with an exe. You don't need to install. |
lol it has 3d with the red blues anyways my lap runs it too slow is there a mac version?
lol you played the 3D exe? Yea I really want to find some old 3D glasses and try it.
Try Lo version if it chugs. |
I AM PLAYING WARIO 3 FOR GAME BOY
Spderman Web of Shadows isn't too bad, but it is repetitive.
Gonna go to Gamescon again today...it was a little boring yesterday (Press-Day) and apart from Guild Wars 2 I didn´t get to play anything..mostly.
Even then the line for Old Republic was WAY too long...don´t wanna know how long it´ll be today... Oh and the demo for Front Mission Evolved sucked. |
I forgot that you're in Germany Ox. Is Gamescon any good? Or is it like a mini E3?
Hm, hard to tell for me. E3 is first, so most of the good info is already known when Gamescom starts. The whole thing was pretty dissappointing this year. Almost every game was shown inside those stupid movie-cubes (don´t know how to describe them better, but I´m sure you know what I mean) where you had to wait 2+ hours to see anything, be it COD, Diablo3 or Castlevania and 99% games where either just movies or hands-on presentations, in other words: Worthless.
I did play PS-Move though it was...okay I guess? A bit of lag and the whole thing felt a little slow but it worked in the designated Move-Booths. I didn´t work at all when we tried it in the press area of a company we know...they had one of those things lying around just for fun and the room was apparently too bright and the distance was not ideal so we couldn´t calibrate it...something you have to do before every game I´m told. But Move still worked way better than Kinect, God that POS sucked. Didn´t get to play myself but you could watch them flailing around in those plastic-booths. I can only repeat what most other people on the net already said: Kinect doesn´t work and when it kind of works, it doesn´t make any sense. You have to move your whole body around slowly and carefully to do what a simple press of a button can do (Starting the fucking game for example). So yeah, thousands of people standing in line for videos you can probably watch online by now. Quite some Cosplayers there too, don´t know what their deal was, along with a lot of people that really boost your ego as a gamer :D But I´m not gonna complain, I can drive over there in 20mins, park for free, get in for free...it´s a nice distraction for two or three hours. I guess E3 is still way more important but it´s good to have something like that here, we´re still in the witch-hunt aera over here concerning Shooters and stuff. :D Oh and I got three (3) tags in DragonQuest XI Tag-Mode...and I guess the GC is THE event for something like that...three...pfff. |
