The Crow: ONE FUCKIN GOOD MOVIE!!

If anyone else has seen this movie, then you know how great it is. The way the camera filmed the action sequences was inspired, never showing too much blood, but making it all the more intense. The storyline was terrific, and the script belw me away. The acting was good, except for that Step-sister of the main bad guy, she wasn't that great, but Brandon Lee delivered the performance of a lifetime, literally. This was unfortunately his last movie due to an accident on the set. Still, this movie is a must-watch for fans of great comic-to-movie translations. You owe it to yourselves to watch The Crow. WATCH IT, DAMN IT!!

I am wearing my Crow t-shirt at this very moment OMFG!!!!

soundtest Jun 13th, 2003 09:02 PM

Edward Furlong (T2's John Connor) is supposed to be the new Crow in the next movie.

whoreable Jun 13th, 2003 09:27 PM

too bad he isnt in the new terminator :(

Mockery Jun 13th, 2003 10:38 PM

"I am the police, and I say you move and you're dead."

" And I say I'm dead, and I move..."

Yeah this movie kicks MAJOR ASS. :rock

I thought the rape scene was horrible. :(
Not to mention overly-drawn out. I mean, Christ, we get the picture! Thats enough narritive drive! Lets move on with the story now! >:

Immortal Goat Jun 14th, 2003 12:13 AM

Yes, Jeanette, the rape scene was disturbing, but that is where the camera comes into play. If you were to watch it again, you will realize that, while still disturbing, they never actually show the rape being commited. You see Shelly Webster's shirt get ripped open, and you see her own view for a few seconds at a time, but never the actual act. The reason it is so disturbing is that your imagination fills in all the gaps left by the camera work, and the imagination is the scariest thing in the world.

Rongi Jun 14th, 2003 12:18 AM

I hear so many bad things about this movie...

Grazzt Jun 14th, 2003 12:31 AM

FIRE IT UP! FIRE IT UP!

AChimp Jun 14th, 2003 12:33 AM

The TV show sucked. :(

Immortal Goat Jun 14th, 2003 12:52 AM

Don't believe them, Rongi. It is an amazing film that must be seen to understand. And yes, the show sucked so many balls it made Richard Simmons jealous.

James Jun 14th, 2003 02:14 AM

I don't like snuff films. :lol

Anyway, I thought the new Crow was going to be DMX. There's supposed to be a Crow spinoff called Lazarus or something, where he's the new Crow. I can see it now...

"Nigga I know you don't just touch my bird! Bust a cap in yo white ass! What! What! Unh unh! Gonna give it to ya!"

But I guess Crow 4's coming out first. Frankly, I think it's going to suck. Furlong's cool and all, but as The Crow? Please. Besides, this whole Four Horseman gang shit is sounding really gay.

Further more: City of Angels, Salvation, and Stairway to Heaven. Nuff said.

That DMX idea was scrapped, although I can't see why - if the script was half that good I'm sold.

The original Crow was ok. I never saw the others or the TV series but I heard they were pretty weak. I like Furlong, but yea - despite his pale, junkie complexion I can't see him in the role.

FS Jun 14th, 2003 07:36 AM

Meh. The Crow was alright at best. I can't see why they keep making shitty sequels and spin-offs to it, and if Brandon Lee hadn't died on the set this movie would have disappeared into the flops section.

whoreable Jun 14th, 2003 10:08 AM

I agree, I find this movie highly overated. Nothing special.

Protoclown Jun 14th, 2003 10:12 AM

I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. Admittedly, a lot of that comes from a morbid fascination with it being Brandon Lee's final role, but I think his performance was quite good, and it shows that he definitely could have gone on to do more than just simple action roles that required no actual acting.

I also like it for Michael Wincott and the guy who plays T-Bird, whose name escapes me at the moment. I think it's better than the comic too, as the story is more organized and well thought out. With the comic I got the impression that O'Barr was simply making it up as he went without any real plan in mind.

Anything and everything that comes after the original movie is pure shit, and I personally view it as disrespectful to Brandon Lee. The Crow should have died when he did.

Mockery Jun 14th, 2003 12:06 PM

"CAW CAW! BANG! FUCK I'M DEAD!"

:lol

kellychaos Jun 14th, 2003 12:09 PM

Brandon Lee ... Nevermore. :/

:lol

Grazzt Jun 14th, 2003 03:03 PM

I found it hilarious how in Stairway to Heaven, the painted face was his battle mode.

FS Jun 14th, 2003 04:40 PM

hah, yeah. Half the time he looked like the make-up they used was either really cheap or almost washed off.

Generator86 Jun 14th, 2003 08:14 PM

Mock, I completely forgot about that line. :lol indeed.

Immortal Goat Jun 14th, 2003 09:05 PM

Do you mean to tell me, Protoclown, that you have read the original comic series? Where did you get your hands on them? And, if I can find them anywhere, how much do you think they go for?

Grazzt Jun 14th, 2003 11:32 PM

Why bothering asking questions you know the answers to? Try a comic store, dummy.
