The barreleye (Macropinna microstoma)

You can see through it's head! :eek

b_squared Feb 27th, 2009 04:05 PM

That thing is terrifying.

pac-man Feb 27th, 2009 06:04 PM

All deep water fish are freaky as all shit.

Tadao Feb 27th, 2009 06:10 PM

Tear, but this one has translucent skin on it's head only.

pac-man Feb 27th, 2009 06:18 PM

I can't really think of too many evolutionary advantages having a clear head would give a creature; but again, all deep sea fish are freaky deaky.

Less scary pictures, more cuteness:

Is that your kitty and if so I take it e like water? I don't see you trying to get a cat to swim.

Kitsa Mar 13th, 2009 07:21 PM

That's my oldest, my flame-point Siamese Cesco. My parents have a small pool, and every time we bring in an animal we always make sure to at least introduce them to the water so they know what it is and what to do.

Most of the cats only dipped their paws in and hissed, but it keeps them from playing near the pool. Cesco is the only cat who swims. My dog thought the pool cover was solid and crashed right through it; I've taken her in a couple of times and she splashes around.

heart flame point siameses, to hell w/ seal points

Kitsa Mar 13th, 2009 10:21 PM

I like flame points because they're laid back. Cesco is a big doofy teddybear of a cat, there's not a clever or diabolical bone in his body.

On the other hand, every torbie (tortoiseshell/tabby mix) I've ever had has been scary-smart and crazy as all hell.

I need to learn how to say "Don't worry, my dog won't eat your kid" in Japanese :(

Tadao Mar 15th, 2009 07:10 PM

How do you say that?
