ok this is going to appear to be a really stupid question but at least hear me out. i just bought this new 52" flat screen HDTV. brand-spankin' new, never been out of the box. but the damn thing won't turn on!

now, to avoid all obvious suggestions, i have, indeed, made sure it was plugged in; made sure the outlet works; and while using the remote, made sure of the freshness of the batteries. SO WHY THE FUCK WON'T IT TURN ON???

when i got my big screen the people told me not to turn it on for 8 hours? i wasnt smart enuff to ask why but thats what they told me and such.

yah...so...called tech support. everyone's a genius, i swear:

"um...maybe if you uh...unplug it for an hour or something. try that. then call back uh...later"
