Forrest Gump
Dementia 13 House Toy Story Monsters Inc. Get Smart The Incredible Hulk Armageddon Hancock |
Now tell us how those films made you think and feel?
Assuming that you have thoughts and feelings. |
Forrest Gump- I watched it with the commentary because I've seen it so many time before I got the DVD, IDK how that made me feel (although I love commentary!)
Dementia 13- it's Francis Ford Coppolas 1st movie, to sum up the plot...its confusing and old House- made me feel stupid enough to waste money for renting & watching it...there was only one good part the end. Toy Story & Monsters Inc.- watched them on DVD with commentary for the 1st time (it was very insightful) Get Smart- Very clever and witty adaption of the old TV show, altough I enjoyed the original Get Smart movie called "The Nude Bomb" with Don Adams a bit more...for some reason I didn't laugh at the new one. The Incredible Hulk- in every way better than the 2003 "Hulk" movie, very enjoyable although a bit to CGI looking in parts. Armageddon- seen the movie many times on TV and got lucky finding a Criterion Collection 2-Disc DVD for only $8.00 used! Great movie and made even better thanks to the Criterion Collection with all of the special feature and beatiful film transfer. Hancock- much better than Will Smith's last movie "I Am Legend", felt rather confused with the sub-plot about the other guys wife making him weak or something. |
Outpost - Zombie ghost Nazis? Fuck yeah!
This film was brilliant. Great acting, decent story and some of the most sinister bad-guys I've seen in a long time. Recommended! |
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal gug.

The first half of Johnny Dangerously. I've never heard of it before but it's hilarious. Kind of reminded me of Hudson Hawk, which I need to finish watching too.
|
Amazon Women on the Moon. It was on HBO, and I hadn't seen it in a while. I forgot how effin' hilarious that movie is. I love and own The Kentucky Fried Movie but I really think AWotM is the better of the two "Samuel L. Bronkowitz" channel flipping movies. It'd be cool to see the Frat Pack tackled a movie in that vein.

We rented "The Mist". I was way disappointed. I'd loved the short story, but I thought the film version had a lot of plot holes, bad acting and general poor thinking on the part of the players. The very blatant jump scenes were pretty predictable. I know it's supposed to be dark and sad, and the short story is, but we laughed through the film.
I rented "Donnie Brasco" for tonight, too...I've never seen it. Also some renamed Hong Kong horror film I couldn't quite identify- will have to watch it and see. Saw "Casino" all the way through the other night and thought it was incredible. |
Watched Demolition Man on cable. Hahahaha, President Schwarzenegger!!! Wait, what? He's a governor? They could actually amend the Constitution to let naturalized citizens run? Wow... this movie could turn out to be fuckin' prophetic. I remembered how corny it was, but I forgot how fun it was. Quality action movie that sewed it's tongue inside it's cheek.
I also saw The Dark Knight. I already sung it's praises in another thread. The showing was great. My brother gave me an 11am screening pass (I don't know how he got them, he said he "knows people"), so the theater was practically empty... seriously like 20 people. Extremely happy about that, because I'm pretty sure it's gonna be shoulder to shoulder at most theaters this weekend. Brave the heat and crowds and go see it. |

Batman & Robin was on TNT last night while I was going to sleep last night. All I'm going to say about that is the Batman movie I see tonight is going to be so much better than the one I watched last night. |

I just watched Road House 2 and Jake Busey is my god, I love his douchey douchebaginess.
I have House party on in the background, and I think the hi top fade hairstyle is destined for a comeback any day now. |
Road House 2? WTF
He already cleaned up the town? >: |

Hahaha, I've seen Road House 2 but still haven't seen the 1st one. RH2 was out of control. |
Just finished Catch-22. It was really good, weird seeing everyone so young still in it.

Don't bother asking him.

It was an ok movie, just cheesey as hell
Especially after they bring the ARMY'S USING SECRET DRUGS ON THE SOLDIERS thing into it. Spoilers. |
Just got back from step brothers. Went to it for John C Reilly. Him and Will F really play off each other well. There was a lot of good laughs though.

The Dark Knight: Fucking awesome!! There aren't enough hours in the day to describe Heath's amazing performance as the Joker, and Christian Bale OWNS as Batman, regardless of what anyone thinks. The movie was a masterpiece through and through...Chris Nolan is a genius!
Bubba Ho-Tep: Cool movie...it's not a straight up horror OR a comedy...it's kind of a weird dark comedy that makes you really think about growing old. And battling mummies that suck souls from your ass. And whether Elvis really died. Anyway, it's a great Bruce Campbell cheese-fest. I recommend it. Walk Hard: John C. Reilly rules as Dewey Cox in this excellent send-up of music biopics. It's also worth a look. It's damn hilarious, and there are many great jokes, the best of which catch you completely off-guard. There's great cameos, great tunes...(Let's Duet...a work of comic genius). Check it out; you'll laugh yourself stupid. Army of Darkness: If you haven't seen this master work, I highly recommend that you do so. Bruce Campbell rules. |
Watched Major Payne. Still hilarious after all these years.

Step Brothers :rolleyes
|

|
The story for step brothers could have been done in a weekend, but the yells are great.
