Ouch, I don't know if I want to watch 3rd period.

No rethinking - picks are locked now. :suicide

It's only the three of us playing for Mockery bragging rights? How dismal. :tear

It wasn't pretty.

Tadao Apr 18th, 2014 02:11 PM

I was able to change it just before the bracket was locked lol

Tadao Apr 19th, 2014 04:11 PM

I know we all hate those duck fucks but you all seriously chose Dallas to win?

Kitsa Apr 19th, 2014 08:16 PM

End of the 1st in game 2 and the Jackets are doing pretty much exactly what I was afraid they would do. dammit, Bob, you won the vezina.

Kitsa Apr 19th, 2014 10:29 PM

Omfg 2nd OT with a pp

Kitsa Apr 20th, 2014 08:49 AM

Miraculous fucking win.

Colonel Flagg Apr 20th, 2014 08:20 PM

Flyers finally bust the MSG Jinx.

God, but I hate the Rangers.

Not me, I should have Boston, unless somehow I effed up.

Kitsa Apr 21st, 2014 07:28 PM

I hate the duck fucks but they're leading the series right now I think :(

I am sitting here furious because Fox Sports Ohio is suddenly baseball and they cut out pregame on NHL-NBCHD for some hockey history movie. I would be happy to revisit canada-ussr later but my game is on NOW, fucking dammit. Now I am just watching nhl.com refresh.

FOMOH.

Kitsa Apr 21st, 2014 09:18 PM

AAAAAARRRRRGGGGH FUCKING 3rd PERIOD COLLAPSE FUCKING AGAIN

Colonel Flagg Apr 22nd, 2014 04:48 AM

It looked like the Jackets left the ice around the middle of the period.

The last goal was insane - did it actually ricochet off the defenseman?

Kitsa Apr 22nd, 2014 07:50 AM

I can't even remember, lol.

I love my Jackets, but this is typical for them...start off insanely strong in the first, tread water in the second, drown in the third.

Also watched Ducks-Stars. Robidas. DAMN. As someone who rebroke an ankle a couple of months ago, watching him try to get up was nauseating. They say this fracture is right next to his other one from earlier in the season.

Tadao Apr 22nd, 2014 05:07 PM

God dam kings are gonna make it a win 4 in a row or die situation :(

AChimp Apr 22nd, 2014 11:35 PM

I'm pulling for Montreal this year. Them being the only Canadian team in the playoffs made it an easy decision. :posh

AChimp Apr 22nd, 2014 11:36 PM

Even though they are part of BAD CANADA :rolleyes

Tadao Apr 22nd, 2014 11:55 PM

Yeah well you can't prove that as you didn't join the bracket. :p

AChimp Apr 22nd, 2014 11:56 PM

I was like the worst one at the bracket last year :(

Kitsa Apr 23rd, 2014 08:47 AM

I think I won the bracket, or at least got closest to it. My reward was the Jackets in the playoffs and their first playoff win ever, lol. They're getting closer.

I know it's all points but their persistent inability to get into the playoffs sort of confuses me. They're not a consistently terrible team and they have really brilliant flashes. Before Bob, I said that the Jackets chew up good goalies and spit them out. Leclaire had some amazing seasons...not Vezina-amazing, but times that he was just like a puck-repelling animal. I'll always have a soft spot for Leclaire and his weirdass interviews. Mason's first season, everyone thought he was a prodigy. Then they both sort of tanked as goalies...Leclaire being the hockey version of Glass Joe and Mason being fucking Mason. And when we had Nash, everyone joked that the whole team was swinging from Nash's nuts.

I was at the game last season when everyone thought our win meant we made the playoffs, and it was insane. I have never heard Nationwide that loud. And then everyone found out like 15 minutes later that...I think it was Minnesota? Had won their game and we were out of the playoffs. Columbus really deserves a fair showing :(

Colonel Flagg Apr 23rd, 2014 01:31 PM

I'm pulling for the Jackets, since it's almost a foregone conclusion the Flyboys will drop 2 more before winning 3. Sad, really, that they are the stinking Rangers' bitches this year.

Sad for me, that is. I know the rest of you are doing the happy dance. >:

Yes, Kitsa won the bracket last year. :)

Kitsa Apr 23rd, 2014 05:57 PM

If we are pre-empted again tonight, so help me god

Kitsa Apr 23rd, 2014 08:22 PM

Yep, we were. Watching but kind of wish I hadn't.

At least it won't be a shutout.

Edit: I TAKE IT BACK. FUCK YEAH!!!!!!

Colonel Flagg Apr 23rd, 2014 11:06 PM

Fleury looked a little lost back there .... someone should have shown him the way back to the crease....

Actually, no, I liked it better like this. Eat it Pittsburgh! :D

Colonel Flagg Apr 23rd, 2014 11:07 PM

Nothing like OT hockey when your team wins.

Kitsa Apr 24th, 2014 08:19 AM

that was nuts. They came back from a 3-nothing. Typically when Dubinsky scores, everyone yells DUUUUUUB. This time it was like,

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB BBBBBBBBBB

The fucking camera shook. People must have been jumping and stomping.

Colonel Flagg Apr 24th, 2014 01:52 PM

I had the TV on "mute" and I heard the crowd noise. That was something.

Tadao Apr 24th, 2014 03:40 PM

Fuck, I'm nervous about tonight. :(

Kitsa Apr 24th, 2014 07:27 PM

I don't know if we'll take the series, but damn do I love making the penguins work for it. They are cocky as fuck and it's nice to make them sweat. Of course, if we do somehow win this, so much the better, except that ticket prices will shoot up :(

Colonel Flagg Apr 24th, 2014 08:12 PM

Luck to the Kings. Have a little sushi tonight.

Colonel Flagg Apr 24th, 2014 08:14 PM

I'm very pleased the BJ's evened the series. Nothing would please me more than to have Cindy crying into his contract.

AChimp Apr 25th, 2014 12:47 AM

Please beat the Penguins so Crosby can play for Canada in the Worlds next month.

Kitsa Apr 25th, 2014 05:23 AM

I'm selfish, I want to beat the Penguins because Crosby is a diving bitch chump.

Colonel Flagg Apr 25th, 2014 09:37 AM

^^^ this.

Also, how did the Kings like their sushi?

Tadao Apr 25th, 2014 12:13 PM

They better not be patting each other on the back, they seriously need a kick in the ass and have to pull it together. :lol Tough love

Kitsa Apr 25th, 2014 11:07 PM

agggh chicago won
:(

Colonel Flagg Apr 26th, 2014 10:20 AM

So much for "Blackhawks Down" :|

In other news, it looks like that hit in the head ... excuse me, that "upper body injury" brought out Mason's inner goalie. He looked amazing last night.

Please, please please let Ray Emery develop butt-sores from sitting on the bench.

Kitsa Apr 26th, 2014 07:16 PM

Mason is just such a jackass.

Colonel Flagg Apr 26th, 2014 07:48 PM

Maybe so, but some of the saves he made last night were insane.

Don't get me wrong, I was very angry when we traded Bob, but I really think the change of scenery was good for him, plus he's developing quite an edge - and I approve. (The stick-tossing incident brought back memories of Ron Hextall, who was the king of "dick moves".) I hope the BJ fans approve as well.

Mason seems, at least on the surface, to have had a similar transformation in Philly. Only time will tell.

For now, just keep stopping the puck, guys.

Kitsa Apr 26th, 2014 08:13 PM

I approve of any and all Hexty-like behavior. I agree.

Mason developed quite a big head during his first season as a starter here. It could be that I resented Leclaire's departure, but every interview the guy gave he seemed like a bigger and bigger asshat.

Kitsa Apr 27th, 2014 09:33 AM

That game sucked. And traveling jackets fans report idiot pens fans trying to beat them up. Classy!

Tadao Apr 27th, 2014 02:50 PM

Well Kitsa and Flagg, all 3 of us are in the same situation right now.

Kitsa Apr 27th, 2014 04:40 PM

Didn't Crosby shoot and not score on an EMPTY NET in the last 9 games where he had that situation? I think they said that last night.

Empty net, Crosby shoots, goes off the post.

Tell me why people worship this guy again?

Tadao Apr 27th, 2014 05:27 PM

Wow, that's a pretty shitty stat to have.

Colonel Flagg Apr 27th, 2014 06:06 PM

Damned Flyers got totally outskated in the first two periods, then played well in the third. Either way, they still haven't played a full 3 periods in this series yet.

I know it may be sour grapes, but really, any team other than the stinking Rangers.

Kitsa Apr 28th, 2014 09:46 PM

OMFG.

Colonel Flagg Apr 28th, 2014 09:56 PM

We'll be joining you soon, Kit. :(

On the golf course, that is.

Kitsa Apr 28th, 2014 09:59 PM

I don't know wtf hulkamania infects us when we're down by 3 or 4, but damn, I wish we'd gotten one more goal out of it.

That was nuts.

Tadao Apr 29th, 2014 12:42 AM

Sharks are pissed off :lol

Colonel Flagg Apr 29th, 2014 04:56 AM

It would have been epic had the BJ's finished the job. Oh well, like the Flyers tonight (probably) better luck next year.

Back to San Jose for Game 7. Didn't see that one coming.

Kitsa Apr 29th, 2014 01:01 PM

Lol. I think the jackets have a pretty solid playoff team now. The others should stop thinking of us as negligible.

Colonel Flagg Apr 29th, 2014 08:44 PM

Well well, look who decided to show up tonight. Color me surprised.

Ah, who am I kidding?

Have faith, K&T, they can still fold. And they probably will. :(

Tadao Apr 29th, 2014 09:05 PM

Hat trick :eek

Colonel Flagg Apr 29th, 2014 10:27 PM

Yes, Simmonds is a monster when he gets a mind about him.

Well, that was both shocking and entertaining. Mason, once again, stood on his head. With the exception of garbage time, he saved everything the blue-dogs threw at him. Asshat, maybe, but he is playing some great hockey.

On to MSG for Game 7.

Colonel Flagg Apr 30th, 2014 03:03 PM

How the Hell did I get to be in 1st place?

I demand a recount. >:

Colonel Flagg Apr 30th, 2014 03:04 PM

The Bruins better not win it all! :eek

Tadao Apr 30th, 2014 04:50 PM

I might catch up because I bet against NY but you got that 6 point lead for predicting 2 series lengths, good job on that.

Tadao Apr 30th, 2014 04:52 PM

I thought the tie breaker meant the whole cup series, not the final series :(

Colonel Flagg Apr 30th, 2014 10:08 PM

Flyboys gave it a good go, but they were just not good enough. Maybe next year.

I say that a lot. :(

Tadao May 1st, 2014 11:26 AM

Fell asleep during the 3rd and woke up to a motocross. Had to check online and thought the sharks won for a second :lol

Congratulations, Kings. Apparently sushi does not give you indigestion. Seriously, coming back from 0-3 is not a trivial task.

Good luck against those damned Ducks.

Tadao May 1st, 2014 03:03 PM

fuck the ducks

Kitsa May 1st, 2014 11:44 PM

Fuck the ducks.

Colonel Flagg May 6th, 2014 01:41 PM

Back to the Staples Center to finish the job.

Tadao May 6th, 2014 07:41 PM

Hi hopes kill kings. :eek

Tadao May 11th, 2014 03:35 PM

Boston, city of assholes.

Colonel Flagg May 12th, 2014 11:06 AM

Both too true.

What happened the last two games? Did the Kings forget how to score?
The secret is to put the puck in the net, or so I've heard.

These are the Ducks they let back into the series, just so we're on the same page.

Damned Ducks. >:

Tadao May 12th, 2014 03:47 PM

Yeah, they moved the games off of fox sports west to the other channels I don't get. Didn't watch the last two games, I might watch tonight's on my computer, but it feels less comfortable than on a tv.

Kings are always a come from behind team and I really hate them for that. I prefer the we win all the time team spirit like Blackhawks and those fucking peice of shit ducks.

Colonel Flagg May 12th, 2014 10:18 PM

Bruins are getting pounded tonight. I know I should be upset, seeing as I have Boston winning everything, but even though it's the stinking Habs, I'm Ok with it.

I think the Kings are the only team left that I care about. They have the most former Flyers. :eek

AChimp May 14th, 2014 09:52 PM

Yay Canada!

Tadao May 14th, 2014 10:03 PM

Fuck Boston! and with that I drop to the bottom of the bracket because I had them going to the end.

Tadao May 15th, 2014 11:05 AM

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-pu...041130720.html

Colonel Flagg May 15th, 2014 01:09 PM

At least you have the Kings winning it all - My bracket is now DEAD!

I wouldn't mind so much, if they didn't get beaten by the stinking Canadiens.

Kitsa May 15th, 2014 02:45 PM

:lol

My bottle of Macallan is empty. Season over.

Tadao May 17th, 2014 01:45 AM

Oh man, the way the kings and duck shook hands only makes boston look like the shittiest city on earth.

Colonel Flagg May 22nd, 2014 12:10 PM

Now if the kings can only hold serve....

Tadao May 22nd, 2014 12:24 PM

ahahahahahhhahaha no. that's not how we do things in L.A. Time to lose 2 home games and then win them all. :(

Tadao May 24th, 2014 09:11 PM

Broken jaw and a 10 game suspension? I should have watched the Habs game.

Kitsa May 26th, 2014 06:51 PM

Every day is a goal with you, Tadao.

Tadao May 27th, 2014 09:39 AM

Oh my fucking god, I thought there was no way for that to be real. Then I googled it. :(

Tadao May 31st, 2014 03:21 PM

Tadao Jun 1st, 2014 11:14 PM

Whooo Hoooo!

Tadao Jun 14th, 2014 01:43 AM

It's good to be the king.

AChimp Jun 14th, 2014 10:13 AM

GOOD JOB L.A.

10,000 Volt Ghost Jun 14th, 2014 08:59 PM

But I voted for kodos

Tadao Jun 16th, 2014 03:37 PM

Hey Blue Jackets, you have anyone else you wanna trade us?

Colonel Flagg Jun 17th, 2014 12:41 PM

The Kings won because they had more ex-Flyers. :)

Tadao Jun 17th, 2014 01:00 PM

every time we get some one from Columbus, we win the cup. :eek

10,000 Volt Ghost Jun 22nd, 2014 01:27 AM

You see Regehr get that cup?

Tadao Jun 22nd, 2014 02:02 AM

Yeah, only because it was respect for the old people. Now every vet without a cup wants to sign with us. lol

Kitsa Jun 23rd, 2014 01:19 PM

I didn't want to see him go, TBH. We got my daughter's personalized jersey right before he was traded to us and then it was like why did we even bother.

But congrats, gg and so forth. GG.

We just got Hartnell for Umby. I know Umby was unhappy here. Now Hartnell gets to be unhappy too, lolz

AChimp Jun 23rd, 2014 08:23 PM

Hartnell looks like a greasy hobo. He plays for salt-and-pepper sandwiches.

Kitsa Jun 23rd, 2014 09:20 PM

I was remembering that humiliating-for-everyone incident with his wife not long ago.

Edit: https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/puck-...5715--nhl.html

Kitsa Jun 23rd, 2014 10:40 PM

Apparently there's a rumor he and Hexty had it out and he waived his no-movement clause.

I didn't hear anything about a falling out wih Hexy, but there may have been a clash of personalities there. His production was tapering off over the last few seasons, and he does have 2 more years on his contract than Umby. The overall feeling here is that it is a "one-for one" swap, talent-wise, with the Flyers getting a little more flexibility (glass instead of cement) with their cap situation.

Sad to see him go - he's a good guy. You'll like him.
