The Catcher In The Rye

Read it!

Pub Lover Mar 10th, 2003 10:41 PM

What if I already have & found it to be overly predictable & extremely lame? >:

Bennett Mar 11th, 2003 10:10 AM

then I guess Salinger is just a big faker, eh Pub?

kellychaos Mar 11th, 2003 12:28 PM

Predictable in what sense? :/

Cap'n Crunch Mar 11th, 2003 03:34 PM

Ugh

Sam Mar 15th, 2003 03:28 PM

No thank you.

I've already had that book shoved down my throat by my english teacher.

Did not taste good.

Rongi Mar 15th, 2003 04:47 PM

This is the book that basically killed John Lennon :|

In other words, fuck you >:

Cap'n Crunch Mar 15th, 2003 11:46 PM

Your opinion doesn't count Rongi because no one likes you.

I'd rather have that book shoved down my throat ten times than ever have to read "The Scarlet Letter" again.

The_Rorschach Mar 27th, 2003 04:59 AM

Personally this is one of my favourites reads. Have a few copies of it here in the house. Like the ones with the red covers the most. I don't know about predictable. Some books, like American Gods, I try to figure out as I read them and become disappointed when its too easy, but it wasn't like that with this particular one.

Oddly enough, this is the only book I like by J.D.

the scarlet letter was horrible, i have never forgiven my english teacher for making me read that piece of shit.

No no, you got it all mixed up.

Your opinion doesn't count because it sucks, and no one likes you :).

Shut up, all of you, because I loved this fucking book. >:

Catcher is one book I can read over and over and can never get tired of. The same goes with Junky by William S. Burroughs, Rage (now "banned"-I found it on kazaa)by Stephen King, and Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption and Skeleton Crew also by SK.

glowbelly Apr 15th, 2003 09:17 AM

burroughs is a hack. >:

i liked salinger's short stories better than catcher.
