At the time of naming the band, the members assumed that the novel included anti-materialism as its moral, until later discovering that the novel did not feature this as its message at all. Despite making this mistake, the band members refused to change the name and decided that they created a new meaning behind the title "The Devil Wears Prada", within the terms of it being their band name.

Someone pointed this out to me a little while ago. Dumb is naming your band after a book you haven't read. Beyond dumb is sticking with that name even after learning that it doesn't mean what you thought it meant.

Babs Sep 28th, 2010 12:33 AM

Dumb is naming yourself after that shitty band and coming to this site.

This fucking house eats fucking lightbulbs like fucking candy >:

I just went out into the garage to get a fresh bulb and tripped over a fucking box because the lightbulb out there blew just as I turned it on.

>:

executioneer Sep 28th, 2010 11:32 AM

have you tried compact fluorescents

Kitsa Sep 28th, 2010 11:35 AM

One, it was shorter-lived than I thought it should be. I was thinking about those LED ones. Obviously this house is shittily wired; would an LED blow as easily as an incandescent?

executioneer Sep 28th, 2010 11:40 AM

it shouldn't? LEDs are hell of difficult to destroy usually

Kitsa Sep 28th, 2010 11:57 AM

Next payday I'll get some and see how it goes. For a while I was trying an experiment where I wrote the date of the bulb change on the bulb with a sharpie, but that only succeeded in pissing me off.

Shyandquietguy Sep 28th, 2010 01:43 PM

Definitely get LEDs. They're solid state electronics made for stopping current in one direction so they'll last a hell of a lot longer. As for the shitty wiring blowing shit up, the only concern I'd have for the LED bulb would have to be the rectifier bridge, it's used to prevent the other half of the house AC from being blocked but I highly doubt it'll be affected since it's not made to resist the electricity at all.

If it does get damaged, expect to see some LED's on the bulb being half as bright or going out all together.

Tadao Sep 28th, 2010 02:49 PM

You should have the Electric Co come out and check your wiring. Sometimes it's a free service. If you own the house you might not want to as you might have to fix it right away.

The Doctor Sep 28th, 2010 06:37 PM

Cause they could help....
