FREE COMIC BOOK DAY

I could post this in Toys & Comics, but I want people to actually SEE it today, and after tomorrow this will be obsolete anyway...

Tomorrow is FREE COMIC BOOK DAY, which many comic stores all across North America will be participating in, so be sure to swing by your local comic shop and pick up some books! Some stores impose really lame strict limits on how many free books you can get, while others are extremely generous...but you're guaranteed to be able to get SOMETHING for free.

Check it out guys, there are a lot of great books being published right now, and while you're in your local comic shop, have a look around and see if there's anything else you might like!

You should totally just bring a backpack and load up for me because the closest comic book shop is like 2 hours away :)

FartinMowler May 4th, 2007 08:25 PM

I'm taking my daughter downtown to The Silversnail comic book store tomorrow :)

Mad City Comics always does Free Comic Book Day the best (although this'll probably be their last considering there is only one comic shelf and everything is rapidly being replaced with with novels). They have cake (with what I think is pudding in it), discounts on back issues and new comics, and the fucking 25 cent bin. I've found two issues of Todd Mcfarlane's run on Spider-Man, and even brand new comics that didn't sell, in that bin. They had even given away free issues of Wizard before (well, i'm pretty sure they were free). Good times.

Wow, there are at least 6 comic book stores in Richmond. Except Dave's Comics doesn't count because they fucking suck. They used to have ads in a bunch of old Marvel books in the 80s, and if you've read any comics from back then, you've probably seen one.

WELL TWILIGHT COMICS DECIDIED TO ONLY DO FREE COMIC BOOK DAY UNTIL 3. I was at Spider-man 3 so fuck you twilight. Anyways heres the comics from Fantasy. Not alot but hey, comics are comics.

It was fun today..packed with kids and Nerds. 5 free comics and the store was filled with staff dressed as characters. Who is a guy with a bucket on his head and a cape? They also had some artists doing sketches for free.

MarioRPG May 5th, 2007 09:22 PM

"Not a lot"?? What the fuck are you talking about? I counted 15 books there. That's probably the entire lot of free comics that were published for the event.

Fathom Zero May 6th, 2007 12:48 PM

That's more than I would expect anyone would ever get on a FREE COMIC BOOK DAY or anything "free" for that matter.

If I would have gotten there earlier then I would have gotten a crapload more. If you get there on time they let you get some comics that arent usually given away on free comic book day. Last year my friend Ryan got about 35 books. 10 from free comic book day, and others they got from the back and gave to him.

Fantasy Books kicks ass.

What do you guys expect from someone who wouldn't even spend any money for a Christmas gift then complain about what he got in return?

kahljorn May 6th, 2007 07:47 PM

I heard zeldasbiggestfuck pmed his secret santa with a wishlist that had Playstation 3 written all over it!! and when he didn't get it he complained to his dad and his dad had a long conversation with that secret santa.

Seven Force May 6th, 2007 08:25 PM

You gotta be fucking shitting me.

Girl Drink Drunk May 6th, 2007 09:06 PM

I got 49 comics, 7 Wizard mags (25 cents each.lol), a Fantastic Four 2 poster, and three graphic novels (The Death of Superman, World Without a Superman, and Elektra and Wolverine: Redeemer). Half the comics I got were either 25 cents (and as mentioned, they were all back issues) or free (also back issues, but at the Comic Hunter). The Redeemer was 60 percent off!

zeldasbiggestfan May 6th, 2007 10:38 PM
