Got me a USB Controller
I've been dreaming about getting a USB controller for a very long time, not just for ROMs but for other games too.
Basically I did some planning on this one. I figured if I bought my ticket to see The Dark Knight BEFORE I went to EB Games before hand I would have enough time and enough money to pick up the USB controller and a meatball subway, just before meeting my friend to see the movie with. After a 3 hour masterpiece of Batmannery, I took the controller home and was frustrated with the instructions, only to find it was a simple matter of calibrating the controller and just using it from there. First game I used with it was Pokemon. It's embarrassing. Then I tried Mario Kart 64 with it and I was hooked on using it, never turning back to a keyboard again. Turns out I can use it for a variety of things, including Counter-Strike Source of all things. I wouldn't use it for The Sims or RTS games but for other games it can't be beat. Which games do you recommend I try next? I'm thinking Mischief Makers. |
warning forever, i guess

Grand Theft Auto is pretty much the only game series in history that controls worse with a mouse and keyboard setup than with a controller
I don't know how they fucking did it |
I'll tell you how they did it: rushed PC version.

Why would you gimp yourself in CS by using a controller instead of keyboard and mouse?

I need to find my old cart and bring it up to my dorm tomorrow. That game was so tight. Also, what kind of controller did you get? Just so I know what to recommend (i.e. controllers with a shit D-Pad means fighters aren't gonna be fun). And a friendly tip: don't use a controller in an FPS. It seems like a good idea but...no :( |
