Seth took the words right out of my mouth.

Sethomas Oct 15th, 2007 11:28 PM

I did that so that you could put something else in your mouth.

Like food. I mean, you're really skinny and I wonder if you eat enough. I worry about you, Terra.

"Niggardly" (noun: "niggard") is an adjective meaning "stingy" or "miserly", related to the Norwegian verb nigle. It is cognate with "niggling", meaning "petty" or "unimportant", as in "the niggling details"

"That man is acting niggardly"

Back in 2005, I wrote a college paper where the ONLY word appropriate was "niggardly". I had a long debate with my roomie over whether or not it should be put in the paper or whether it'd be misconstrued, and I decided I'd do it. I turned in the paper and got locked in the looney bin for a month, never seeing that professor (who was a total babe with the hots for me) again. I never found out what grade I got for that paper, but the professor emailed me all like, "I'm sorry you missed class for a month, do you want to talk about dropping?" and I ignored it because I was kicked out of school and that was in the realm of other people's problems.

I'm not going to look that one up. My best guess is "flowing like honey".

Fathom Zero Oct 16th, 2007 01:11 AM

Spot on, mate.

Sethomas Oct 16th, 2007 01:41 AM

i just guessed that "confluence" and "mellivore" could come together for a totally pointless exercise in etymology.

I never tire of saying "vulva". It might not be all that cool but it's fun to say.

JediScum Oct 16th, 2007 06:18 PM

HELL YEAH! Let's hear it for vulva!
