I haven't played a good console shooter since RE4 ;(
Is $25 a good price to pay for a perfect condition green label copy of Symphony of the Night? :[
holy fucking SHIT yes
Used copies of SotN usually go for over 40 fucking dollars, and if you do not buy that right now you are retarded
I'm going there tomorrow :[
I'm totally making this DVD case for it :D |
If you even get it.
And if you do, burn it for me :[ |
I have an ISO of it but it has no music. :\
OR you could wait till you get that 360 and buy it on xbox live arcade for 800 points. That's what I did. It's even got the option of slightly enhancing the graphics so they're not as pixelated.
I probably won't be getting one til that Falcon thing happens, though. So yeah.
you could also get that faggoty collection on the PSP, but they re-did all the voice acting so I'm guessing it won't be nearly as awesome
We got Zack & Wiki for Wii today.
The best way to describe it is point-and-click SCUMM-style puzzle adventuring, without any of the connecting scenes (there's no walking to each area and no backtracking, it has distinct levels which you can generally see all-at-once and the puzzles are self-contained). I still prefer the traditional SCUMM format, but it's an interesting take on the genre and still a very solid game (and a lot more morbid than I was expecting, too - you can die in more ways that you could in Leisure Suit Larry). It's gettings scores of 85-95 from all the publications that have reviewed it so far - check it out. |
I got the new phoenix wright game guys.
Is that the one where his ex-girlfriend DOESN'T POOP?
i'd like to think that comment was for eric.
I got SOTN ;<
The music fucks up a bit at the beginning but it seems to be working okay otherwise. Also the store I went to had a factory sealed copy of Fatal Frame II for $40, which is how much I paid for my used copy. I hate getting screwed. :( |

evidently, smartypants!
just finished phantom hourglass, and still trying to find working settings for TF2. Ham ass was fun, but I finished before I could get all the golden boat pieces.
Man, Oni for ps2 is terrible.
And it doesn't seem like the PC version would be much better. |
Isn't Oni like the first game ever on the PS2? :[
Also of course it's terrible. Even Gamestop won't try to wrench more than 3 dollars out of it. |
Haha, I thought that game was great when I was younger.
Also, it was developed by bungie, which means I knew about them before they were cool |
Every time I see Oni in the bargain bin I seriously consider buying it simply because it is so cheap. On occasion I get the desire to splurge on a whole bunch of 3-5 dollar games and so I can go home and be disappointed, but not spend a lot of money.
I got it because I'm trying to complete my bungie collection. I got Myth a long time ago, but that was when cd burners were new, so I'd buy a game, burn it, then sell the original on eBay for full retail. So I'm missing a lot of late 90s PC games :<
Crysis demo.
It's really good actually. The graphics and physics are fantastic but one of the best things about it is how flexible the gameplay is. |
Twin Snakes is cock-twistingly difficult, even on easy mode.
Or maybe I just suck. |
Twin Snakes is ridiculously easy in comparison to the original. What are you having trouble with?
Also, I picked up MP3 for the first time in like a week and scored myself a Lammy bobblehead in my ship and got to the phazon war golem boss. It kicked my ass like 3 times before I gave up ;( |
I think it's mostly just the Gamecube controller giving me trouble. Every time I shift to FPV the screen twitches because my Z button is a hunk of shit and won't stay down. And the GC controller isn't pressure sensitive (or if it is it isn't very good at it), so when I lift my weapon I can't put it back down without firing a shot. This is very bad when I don't have a suppressor.
Also, I wonder which portion of the Genome Soldiers' DNA makes them all sound like Robin from Teen Titans. |
I think if you want to put your weapon away quietly you have to hold the Y button and let go of the A button. This also stops you from firing like a maniac when you're using the famas.
Also, do you only have one controller? |
I have 3, but the one I'm using is less shitty than the other two.
Twin Snakes really, really doesn't want me to forget that I'm playing this on a Nintendo system.
YOU SEEM TO LIKE THE LEGEND OF ZELDA, DON'T YOU?
YOU'VE PLAYED SUPER SMASH BROTHERS MELEE BEFORE.
OH, LOOK, ETERNAL DARKNESS. AND HERE'S A POSTER FOR THE SAME GAME. SILICON KNIGHTS MADE THIS GAME, AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT. |
Does he mention Eternal Darkness? I don't own the game so all I got was Zelda, Mario, and Smash Bros. :o
Yes. Eternal Darkness is Silicon Knight's star game on the Gamecube, so of course he mentions it. You can also find a sw33t poster for it in one of the lockers in the 2nd floor of the nuke building, I believe.
I'm playin' Persona 3 on my PS2, niggas.
Emu, if it makes you feel better, the original is only slightly less gimmicky than Twin Snakes.
Also I got really into Thief: The Dark Project this weekend, and I must say that it is god damned brilliant. Way better than System Shock 2.
WoWcraft
McClain, was it you who used to build those arcade machines a long time ago? :O
It was. And it still is, though I've narrowed my collection down to two machines, neither of which are completely functional. Though I'm almost fin w/ my latest mini cab.
Discworld MUD ;<
Conan.
It's an endless stream of brutalizing little men and saving topless women. |
I've become kind of addicted to Magic - The Gathering: Duel of the Planeswalkers lately, which is weird as I never played the card game all that much.
I'm running through the half lifes again in order. Picked up the orange box (for the 360) and it's the best $60 I've ever spent. TF2 is awesome. Portal is just...WOW; I'm glad I stopped eating acid after high school. Haven't touched Episode 2 yet, but probably will this weekend. Also, Forza 2 and DOA 4 are still in steady rotation. And, of course, halo 3 ends up in the disc tray when I have friends over. Any of you fuckers play on XBL? My gamertag's the same as my forum handle, so send me a friend req if you wanna play. Just be sure to explain who you are.
...now, I'm sure you all REALLY wanted to know all that :) |

I remember back when it was fanshionable to call all third person action games Devil May Cry ripoffs, then God of War along and everything changed.
That said, it does borrow a lot from that game. Still fun, though. |
mother 3
its really hard to read japanese with no training |
I'm still trying to savor Okami. :O I also picked up Parasite Eve and I'm kind of playing through that, as well as popping in MGS: VR Missions when I get bored.
I'm currently about half-way through GTA: Vice City for PS2. I never finished the game back in the day and for some reason that fact kept bothering me the last few weeks, so I went to Gamestop and picked it up for 8 bucks.
I've been playing Heroes Of Might And Magic 4 lately. Probably should pick up 5.
lol :< |
Time Crisis: Project Titan, with my Uzi.
Silent Hill and Street Fighter II Turbo.
Just finished Crysis. It's a pretty good game, or rather - the middle part is. The last part is frustrating and the first part took a while to get going.
The graphics and physics are as spectacular as you'd expect. Can't wait to see what licensees do with the engine. |
Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1)
Smackdown vs Raw 2008 when I can stomach it. F'n game. :(
COD 4!
warcraft 2!!
The original Half-Life and Day of Defeat: Source on Fartin's Steam account :)
I tried to set up a Durandal co-op game with some guy from TPIL but I couldn't figure out how to use the online hosting interface.
Where the fuck is Chojin when you need him :< |
Jeanne D'arc. It's a pretty fun game, although it annoys me when the really great characters I worked with leave for indefinite periods.
Final Fantasy 6 Advance. I can't believe I'm playing through an FF game a second time but if it's any FF game, I'd figured it'd be this one. I forget how much depth is in the gameplay (for a series like this.)
Today, I shall brave the dark version of Midwich Elementary School in Silent Hill. That or play some more Capcom Quiz (basically, it's Quiz and Dragons with updated questions) on Capcom Classics Collection Vol 2.
I just got done with a 4 guy co-op on System Shock 2. It was epic.
Im playing Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.
The cannon mini game nearly made me smash my DS the first few times I played it, but I did better the last few times. |
Soul Calibur III and God of War II :eek
GoW made me grow an extra set of balls. |
Deus Ex.
I don't like it. |
System Shock 2 is vastly superior in terms of both gameplay and thrills urhrhrhrhhhhh.
:wank |
actually, I change my mind. The maze minigame is the hardest minigame in LoZ:PH
I picked up a funky box set of some Atlus RPG called Magna Carta: Tears of Blood. I hear it's either terrible or pretty good, depending on what kind of RPG you like. I enjoy JRPGs but this one sounds a little iffy. I haven't gotten to play it yet. :(

Deus Ex was terrible and I don't get why people like it.
I don't really play Marathon on PC anymore, since the Xbox version is simply superior. What's wrong with your network settings, though? I thought we'd played a bit of infinity together before? |
FPS RPGs in general have never done anything for me. They're all decent games marred by shitty interfaces that add nothing to the overall experience and just make it incredibly boring. I did start playing Thief again, which is an innovative first person game done right to the million billionth degree. If Deus Ex's sneaking mechanic were slightly faster, I could just play it like I play Thief, but since you move at .0000000000000000006 miles per hour when holding down the shift key creeping up on people and disposing of them stealthily is impossible. And since that's what the game seems to want me to do because of the way it rapes me to little tiny pieces every time I try isolating guards and just shooting them, that is unacceptable.
Also, I had no problem connecting to the network and setting up a game and chatting with the other guy, but he couldn't figure out how to join my game and if there is an invite feature I didn't know where it was. Which is weird, because I remember Infinity being way easy to use online. He could have just been an idiot, I don't know. |
SMASH TV with Sam. We so cool that we beat level 1 like nothing, then when I let my buddy take over they both died and had to start over from level 1. I seriously love xbox live arcade.
A friend of mine just transfered 10 GB of games to my computer now it's up to you to tell me which are actually worth my time. (I am just going by folder names, these might not be actual names)
Alpha Centauri Civilization III Morrowind Rise of Legends Rise of Nations When I get my answer then my next post in this thread will be what I'm playing right now! |
Your friend likes really boring games
Quote:
Morrowind and civilization are alright. |
If you're looking for an RTS I'd go for Company of Heroes (Opposing Fronts expansion optional). It's easily the best I've ever played and a really good approximation of small-scale wartime tactics without getting too technical or complicated.
That sounds like a fun game, MetalMilitia. My friends and I still play Starcraft. Can't wait for SC2!
Perfect Dark.
I'm almost done with Zelda Twilight Princess, and I'm about 1/2 way through RE4...

ActRaiser!
I like it, but I sort of wish the virtual console would let me change the button designations on the Gamecube controller. |
I am actually getting really into Bards Tale and goofing off with Warlords: Battlecry 3
Or is it goofing off with Bards Tale and really into Warlords: Battlecry 3? P.S. You spell it S-A-N-T-A C-L-A-U-S hooray for Staan Clase! |
Still playing COD4 and kicking ass at it. Also, TF2 is becoming my go-to game when I wanna just smoke a bowl and unwind.
I found a copy of Legend of Mana for $24.99 and the guy gave me a 10% discount on it. :eek So I'm playing the ass out of that.
I rented Manhunt 2 for the Wii today!
It's a little simplistic in the stealth aspects and the gunplay sort of sucks, but I'm loving it a whole lot regardless. I thought the brutality and whatnot would get on my nerves since I'm not a middle school student out to prove how hardcore he is by playing the goriest game possible, but you can't even see the executions clearly. I'm sure if I could the context sensitive motion commands during them would make me feel like I'm actually killing a man! |
Call of Duty 4 for 360 with a dash of Grandia 2 for Dreamcast on the side.
Twilight Princess :( on the gamecube :(
I am too, only on the wii this time! HOLY CRAP it is confusing. Everything is switched.
Kickass Halflife 2 Deathmatch on zombie servers.
After beating Mass Effect 3 times (normal, hardcore and insanity) I've been all over the place. One notable game that I'm playing is Albion for PC.
Super Star Wars
The Nintendo 64 version of "Goldeneye"
Demos for Aquaria and The Witcher. Both appear to be fantastic games.

I started a file for FF7 sometime in like october and i've been playing it on and off. i'm close to the 3rd disk |
So, uh, in trying to not act like a faggot I become a bigger faggot?
I mean, I had never played a Manhunt game before, but from what I understood they seemed incredibly childish and the kind of thing a 13 year old would play to get street cred with all of his buddies. Which it is, hence me feeling queer about it.
Seriously, the fuck is your problem |
Persona 2, which is frustrating the hell out of me and borderline uninteresting.
