Well isn't this special.

And exactly why I stopped using eBay a long time ago.

The item arrived today (July 18th, 2006) in extremely damaged and unacceptable condition. Several (7) pieces of plastic were broken off of the case, and only a few (3) of the broken pieces remained in the shipping box, indicating that the item was purposefully sent in this damaged condition. Obviously, a case in this condition cannot hold the advertised (12) number of games.

This is the side of the drawer, which was broken in 3 places. All 3 pieces were in the box and I reattached them with superglue, as seen in the picture.

This is a top view of the damaged item. There are 3 pieces broken in the rear of the drawer’s interior, as well as a 4th piece broken right above my thumb.

This is a closer view of the 3 broken pieces in the rear of the drawer’s interior.

Given the above, I feel it is fair that I ask you send a second, undamaged version of this product via expedited mail at no cost to me. Hopefully, you agree.

Sincerely,
Eric Yockey

This item was obviously shipped in defective condition, and my working pictures prove this. If you would like, I could attach these pictures in a reply to ensure their download and relative ‘worth’.

I would appreciate if you would treat your customers with the same courtesy and respect with which I’ve treated you. If you refuse to comply with my reasonable requests for you to ameliorate an obvious error on your part, I will file a claim with eBay’s safeharbor department, as is my right, again, as a customer.

Thank you,

If you require that I send the broken item back, I would require that I receive the funds with which to ship it. I would expect no less and no more from any professional online outlet.

Again, no, this does not hold games just fine, as the broken pieces are from the slots that hold the games. How would you like it if you bought something that was supposed to be a collectible item in good condition – “NICE!” even – and when you received it, it was scratched up and broken, and when you contacted the seller, they first called you a liar and then basically said ‘it works well enough?’

I was not and am not in the market for something that is broken and that looks and operates like junk as a result. I was in the market for an attractive case for my N64 games. Not junk. This is junk. You have sold me junk in place of the item I was promised. I am upset. I want what I paid for or I want my money back. You want me to shut up and go away while you keep my money. This is not going to happen.

If I don’t receive a response by Monday with A) A tracking number for the new, non-junk item being sent to me or B) A full refund in my Paypal account, I will inform eBay and Paypal of this transgression and exercise every available option to both receive a refund and let others know the nature of the backhanded shenanigans you are up to.

I am in no mood to debate this anymore with you, as you are fully aware of the situation and what you were doing when you sent the junk to begin with. All I want to know is whether you’re going to honor a refund or exchange. Please advise.

Yours,
Eric Y

HOW DARE YOU :posh

Marc Summers Jul 18th, 2006 11:16 PM

If you stopped using eBay a long time ago, why did an item you order just arrive today? Was it late? Or did I just fail to see the irony :(

Chojin Jul 18th, 2006 11:43 PM

cause i tried using it again, you ass-guy

DamnthatDavid Jul 19th, 2006 01:15 AM

Oi, getting itchy for all out forum fun time raid.

But shit, that is sucky.

Juttin Jul 19th, 2006 02:19 AM

HOW DARE YOU INSINUATE! I am in the right mind to give you what for, mind you! Pip Pip, Tally-ho! >:

MetalMilitia Jul 19th, 2006 07:15 AM

That reply from "Mark and Jenny" is horribly unprofessional. They sound like first class dicks.

AChimp Jul 19th, 2006 09:19 AM

This is why I've never used eBay, or at least I wouldn't buy something where the seller put "NICE!" in the title.

the_dudefather Jul 19th, 2006 11:51 AM

R@re!

Chojin Jul 19th, 2006 11:51 AM

They were the only people on the entire internet that had this thing for sale, or believe me, I would have looked elsewhere ;<

Chojin Jul 19th, 2006 11:55 AM

I had made a second reply last night with duplicate links for the pictures hosted on popnko, and today they responded with a blank mail that just quotes everything that has been sent so far in the conversation.

WELL-PLAYED, MARK AND JENNY'S EBAY STORE.

Juttin Jul 19th, 2006 11:58 AM

That's a great way to counterpoint, reminding everybody of what they already know

Chojin Jul 19th, 2006 03:47 PM

Thankfully, outlook managed to show the contents of the message, though webmail couldn't earlier at lunch. No doubt it was written in secret internet disappearing ink to throw off would-be spies.

Updated the conversation history in the first post. I am a CONSUMMATE PROFESSIONAL when I am not in the trenches banning newbs haha am i right

sadie Jul 19th, 2006 06:15 PM

i ordered a redwall dvd through ebay in november for ry's christmas, and it took me until april to get the company to refund me my money -- since they never even sent it. and that was after countless emails, several phone calls, and contacting both ebay and paypal. digital dogpound? more like digital dogpile. >:

Jeff The Ninja Jul 19th, 2006 08:17 PM

Wow, for a "store" they have shitty costomer Service.

In my whole entire life, I bought only one thing off Ebay, the Second Sega Game Gear I aquired after my first one Crapped out on me. Did you check their Feedback, maybe the same thing happened to other people?

Thats why I dont like buying things online or through Mail order, you dont know If you are going to get it.

Wicked Grapefruit Jul 19th, 2006 09:03 PM

eBay is a good concept, but hundreds of worthless and irresponsible sellers have made the place a total crap fest. There are a few good ones left, but they're few and far between

Chojin Jul 20th, 2006 05:33 PM

Maybe I should start selling my trash on eBay, too. It seems really efficient, aside from the angry emails. THE TRICK IS TO APPEAR SHOCKED AND UPSET WHEN THEY REPLY.

Updated the OP with the two new mails. Fucking jerks.

Chojin Jul 20th, 2006 06:01 PM

THE PLOT THICKENS

i'm thinking i should include a boxing glove on a spring in this package, dudes ;<

kahljorn Jul 20th, 2006 08:13 PM

Is there a safe, nonshitty alternative to EBay? I need to order some good shop/ warehouse lights and I don't want to pay 50 dollars a ballast ;(

MetalMilitia Jul 20th, 2006 08:52 PM

I saw this and thought of you. But I'll warn you it pretty much sucks.

Art of negative feedback
