Has got to be the biggest slap in the face to the unemployed folks of America. :lol

So I'm not the only person to find this commercial to be pompus.

Tadao Jan 27th, 2009 06:10 PM

I have no idea what it is.

Sacks Jan 27th, 2009 11:32 PM

It's basically a website for millionaires.

Sacks Jan 27th, 2009 11:33 PM

Out of work millionaires.

Kitsa Jan 28th, 2009 11:32 AM

I signed up for it for laughs. Most of the positions in my area want 15 years experience.

It's a Monster-type job site that claims to be for jobs that pay more than $100k ("for $100k talent"). The idea is that they can get people who don't make that kind of money, but have high opinions of themselves, to sign up for a paid membership to the site.

Tadao Jan 28th, 2009 05:57 PM

Ah! Software designers!

Kitsa Jan 28th, 2009 08:30 PM

fwiw, there's a free membership option, but you have to be dishonest about what you're currently pulling in.

LittleDollClaudia Jan 28th, 2009 08:45 PM

And this site thinks that us as a society of slackers have that kind of commitment to stay at 1 job for more than 5 years? Pshaw, I say.

:lol

Evil Robot Jan 29th, 2009 10:11 PM

My question is what kind of company has to go to a web site to recruit thier higher-ups? This is something thats usually done through "personal networking" whereas the job would go to somebody that was already involved with the company somehow.

Dr. Boogie Jan 30th, 2009 01:24 AM

That's why I'm leaning towards them just trying to cash in on dumb people.

I once saw an add on craigslist that wanted a manger with 15+ years of experience, as though someone like that would have to flip through the want ads instead of consulting the contacts he's made through more than a decade of working in that business.

Maybe if you're a slacker with a COOL job. I did tattoos for just over 5 years. Ironically, I'm back in retail and I make more money now. How'd THAT happen?

Angryhydralisk Jan 30th, 2009 11:51 AM

Plus chances are you'll just spend your 100K staring at a horse-racing screen mean-mugging all day.

Kitsa Jan 30th, 2009 11:55 AM

I read an article about a bunch of people (one a former 6-figure financial something-or-other) fighting over a $7/hr retail job. It was like 20 people fighting over 1 $7/hr position. It was depressing.

Angryhydralisk Jan 30th, 2009 11:59 AM

Depressingly hilarious!

I also saw a mortgage broker lose his job and become a shoe shiner making 20 grand.

Kitsa Jan 30th, 2009 12:06 PM

I want to know how far all of this has to devolve before someone ends up parading Paris Hilton's head around on a pike.

Tadao Jan 31st, 2009 01:50 AM

I guess after you get a job from them you can go check out the rich peoples craigslist.
