Sacks' Bandwagon Doodles'n Crap Thread

Some of these might be in other threads, I don't remember.

UPDATE: Finished?

(30x40 inch charcoal)

(Not sure what Tadao was using on the pieces in his thread but it looked similar to the ink and water solution I was using on this, only with a brush instead of a stick.)

Laaaaiid back.

Fathom Zero Feb 15th, 2008 07:29 PM

HIGH FIVE

Sacks Feb 15th, 2008 08:05 PM

UPTOWN BRO

bigtimecow Feb 16th, 2008 04:29 PM

GODDAMN THOSE ARE NICE

Emu Feb 17th, 2008 07:12 PM

i hate the look of charcoal but you made it good D:

Tadao Feb 17th, 2008 10:21 PM

(Not sure what Tadao was using on the pieces in his thread but it looked similar to the ink and water solution I was using on this, only with a brush instead of a stick.)

It's probablly the same. I scrape ink into a well and add a little water and brush. It's what they use to draw chineses/japanese characters. I love your work BTW.

King Hadas Feb 18th, 2008 06:55 AM

That chalk Charles Bronson looks good enough to hang in a museum.

ZAKO the GREAT Feb 22nd, 2008 08:59 AM

love the INK-&-ANIMAL SKULL.
thumbs up!

Grislygus Feb 22nd, 2008 01:55 PM

I demand more awesome mongoloid cartoon characters

MLE Feb 23rd, 2008 02:50 AM

Even though it may have been a school project, I really like the way you handled the white on black paper technique, and I think you should play around with it some more <3

Sacks Mar 18th, 2008 12:30 AM

It's actually a big poster board kind of thing that I blacked completely out with charcoal and started erasing. I liked it a lot and I'll definitely do it again.

MLE Mar 18th, 2008 02:40 AM

I like it a lot, too! Do more of it!

Kitsa Mar 18th, 2008 11:33 AM

Very cool. Is the 3rd one down Henry Rollins?

Sacks Mar 18th, 2008 04:19 PM

Yep. He's breaking through a stone wall and I think I'm going to have him screaming at Nosferatu.

Tadao Mar 18th, 2008 04:22 PM

Sad looks like Tom Waits.

Sacks Mar 19th, 2008 05:41 AM

Waits is above hip hop Reagan?

Tadao Mar 19th, 2008 01:09 PM

Yeah, is that Waits?

Sacks Mar 19th, 2008 01:12 PM

Yep

MLE Mar 19th, 2008 03:28 PM

Sacks, when you add art to your thread, please do so in a new post in this thread, so people are notified when you have a new piece up :>

Sacks Apr 17th, 2008 08:43 AM

Heres a bad picture of some weird shit I did the other day.

Fat_Hippo Apr 17th, 2008 12:42 PM

That's seriously messed up. But cool...in a scary kind of way.

Sacks Apr 28th, 2008 05:47 PM

Goulet On The Rocks

Sacks Apr 29th, 2008 10:04 PM

Photobucket is trying to shut down my Goulet!

MLE Apr 29th, 2008 10:11 PM

why? I can't see anything explicitly NSFW

Sacks Apr 29th, 2008 11:20 PM

That's what I was saying loudly at my computer screen.

Grislygus Apr 30th, 2008 03:52 PM

Seems like you're winning so far.

Sacks May 8th, 2008 09:10 AM

Listen, you fuckers, you screwheads. Here is a man who would not take it anymore. A man who stood up against the scum, the cunts, the dogs, the filth, the shit. Here is a man who stood up.

Fat_Hippo May 8th, 2008 11:40 AM

Is he winking?:lol

Sorry, but those words, with that picture, weeeellllll...

Sacks Jul 25th, 2008 02:33 AM

Here in this place lies the genie of death
Touch it, see it
Whoa
Here in this place is a means to your end
Touch it, feel it
Green Koi

Fathom Zero Jul 25th, 2008 02:37 AM

I'd like that on a t-shirt.

Sacks Jul 25th, 2008 02:40 AM

That's what my brother said. SOUNDS LIKE IT'S TSHIRT TIME.

Fathom Zero Jul 25th, 2008 02:48 AM

I think it's the green-ness. I like it.

Rez Jul 29th, 2008 06:38 AM

and have HERE IN THIS PLACE LIES THE GENIE OF DEATH in big arial black on the back

MLE Jul 29th, 2008 10:03 PM

I agree with Rez!

Sacks Nov 24th, 2008 05:03 AM

The beast has come to claim a youth.

Tadao Nov 24th, 2008 03:38 PM

Of course I'm going to like that one. But even if I wasn't a fan of bunbuns the quality is awesome. The bird looks as lifeless as if you had a dead one infron't of you, and the bunny has that crazed fresh kill stance and look in his eyes. I'm wondering if you used something for reference.

Sacks Nov 25th, 2008 05:25 AM

Well I looked at some pictures of rabbits and dead birds, if that's what you mean.

Tadao Nov 25th, 2008 01:32 PM

No rabbit has crazy eyes :(

Sacks Nov 25th, 2008 02:53 PM

The crazy eyes are from a childhood incident I had at a bunny farm. :(

Sacks Jan 26th, 2009 09:51 AM

Doodles to go.

This one is pretty self explanatory.

The David Bowiest Lee Marvin

Thinking about starting my comic back up again. I don't think anyone on here ever went to my website and looked at the last one though.

Bear is angry.

Picture of this?

DevilWearsPrada Jan 27th, 2009 11:41 PM

The picture on the shirt is essentially the cover of Badfish but drawn and colored better

DevilWearsPrada Jan 27th, 2009 11:42 PM

Wait nevermind, must be seeing shit

Sacks Jan 28th, 2009 10:30 AM

Well they're certainly both Koi if that is what you mean.

Supafly345 Feb 1st, 2009 02:26 AM

Looking at your art I feel right at home. Never commiting to any one style is so much fun.

Sacks Apr 8th, 2009 01:24 AM

Stuff from figure drawing. I wish we had longer than 45 minutes for each pose.

Sacks Apr 24th, 2009 02:24 AM

Colors up in here with that oil pastel.

More blue pastel crap

Is that what the problem was? I thought the forum just died.

Sacks Sep 30th, 2009 05:16 AM

Here is a taste of things to come due to the classes I'm in.

MLE Sep 30th, 2009 10:26 AM

Ooooh, designy!

Sacks Oct 2nd, 2009 05:29 PM

I was getting some hatch on and thought about that hatchin' ass fool Gus. Where did that guy go?

Fathom Zero Oct 2nd, 2009 05:34 PM

He faded away without warning.

We never got the ball rolling on the illustrated story project I wanted to do with people. As I recall, you did a couple things, tooooo. As a matter of fact, my fave:

It's funny, because he started off as disfigured in my head.

Sacks Oct 28th, 2009 08:17 PM

I JUST WANT THIS POST TO EXIST SO WHEN I KILL MYSELF AND THEY SEARCH MY INTERNET HISTORY TO FIND OUT WHY THEY WILL KNOW IT WAS BECAUSE I WAS SO STUPID AND STARTED THIS OVERLY INTRICATE TIME VAMPIRE.

The Leader Oct 29th, 2009 05:43 PM

That is fucking amazing! Is that ink on paper?

Sacks Oct 30th, 2009 01:25 PM

Yes it was the worst idea I ever had.

Tadao Oct 30th, 2009 01:33 PM

I think it would make a good mural.

Fathom Zero Nov 6th, 2009 11:35 AM

Is it something that could only be completed once in a lifetime, but that person is now dead and there will never be another but someday there will be scientists in the future that will try to replicate his techniques but fail miserably and there will be government agents sent to stop them and when the agents get there they come across a room of failed experiments and say "OMG WTF IS THIS SHIT" but then they get to the head evil scientist and he gives a long-winded speech about how it is for the better of mankind to try and recreate something so beautiful?

I mean, is it kinda like that?

Sacks Nov 14th, 2009 05:40 PM

Here is some random crap.

The rabbit with the bird in it's mouth is on the next page and his face makes it looks like there are huge wax lips going on.

King Hadas Nov 16th, 2009 01:26 AM

The drawing from your last post looks like a psychedelic shootout, with the criminals trying to flee the scene. You can see the two bank vaults have been blown out. The angular red thing in the back must be their getaway vehicle, with an arrow line drawn in advance so they wouldn't get lost. They didn't make it though. The one on the left is full of holes, the one on the right is full of quadrilaterals and the one in the middle conflagrated into a surreal shadow of Hiroshima.

The attention given to the nose in this one really shows that you're improving. Keep it up!

Sacks Nov 17th, 2009 09:09 PM

MLE Nov 17th, 2009 09:11 PM

I like the silhouetted figures of patterns

Sacks Nov 18th, 2009 08:53 AM

This is the first time I've ever painted something. It was pretty unpleasant.

captain516 Nov 29th, 2009 01:07 AM

oooh, I like that one

Sacks Dec 11th, 2009 06:32 AM

It's lonely out in space.

The Leader Dec 11th, 2009 11:20 AM

Could we get a high quality pic of that, preferably desktop sized? :3

Tadao Dec 11th, 2009 12:19 PM

I AGREE

Fathom Zero Dec 11th, 2009 12:27 PM

I... I wanna hang your stuff all over my house, man.

Sacks Dec 13th, 2009 06:48 PM

Sacks Jan 22nd, 2010 01:47 PM

Just started taking a painting class. First time using oils ever. This was a 40 minute or so still life practice.

Aaarg Jan 22nd, 2010 01:49 PM

sweeeet stuff dude. i dig the various styles.

Grislygus Jan 22nd, 2010 03:00 PM

Really nice start on the oils, damn good observation on lighting

would look better with a value edge all along the right side and bottom rather than just the shoulder

Fathom Zero Jan 22nd, 2010 03:30 PM

I'll never be good at anything as you guys are at arts. :(

MLE Jan 25th, 2010 01:49 PM

Try to avoid outlining when painting. It's all tone versus tone that makes it work, and you've seriously gotten a great start on it so far. I can't wait to see more practices!

Sacks Feb 2nd, 2010 07:25 PM

3 more days on that dumb still life.

Grislygus Feb 2nd, 2010 11:16 PM

I thought it was a gesture, didnt know it was a proper still life

Sacks Feb 2nd, 2010 11:24 PM

This is all to try and figure out a bunch of different crap. Different stuff next week.

Fathom Zero Feb 2nd, 2010 11:40 PM

Shading looks a little weird.

But it's easy to be a critic. :(

Sacks Feb 3rd, 2010 03:16 AM

Are you talking about the fleshy looking one? Because I got bored and made it look like disgusting bruises.

Sacks Feb 4th, 2010 11:48 PM

Sacks Feb 18th, 2010 01:34 AM

This is the first time I've ever 'doodled' with paint. I had an old canvas and just started painting from my brain. Painting is pretty fun. 3rd ever oil painting.

Aaarg Feb 18th, 2010 08:16 AM

damn, that's a beautiful blue.

Fathom Zero Feb 18th, 2010 08:36 AM
