Battlestar Galactica "re-imagining"

Why, God, why? http://www.battlestargalactica.com/about/bg2/index.html

A female Starbuck? Are these people fucking high?

Fucking high? Yup. High as the rest of the 'creative' talent in Hollywood is on taking tried and true methods then just fucking them over until they look nothing like the source material. I would excuse this by saying the creators are trying to get money for their own projects by namedropping ideas close in spirit to their own....but fuck that.

Hollywood relies on sucking the creative tit until it bleeds. No matter how good a movie seems, the movie that it rips off is better. Find that movie instead.

The funny thing is that from what I've heard, NONE of the old Battlestar Galactica fans (I was never into it myself) want this to happen. I think they even have a couple petitions to try to stop it from happening.

I'd rather they release the whole run onto DVD. Even the second 'failure' season. Screw bringing it back, the time has come and gone.
