I didn't think anyone else read Dirk Gently

Tadao Nov 24th, 2008 03:24 PM

So yeah, basically he did 3 books after Guide.

Asila Nov 24th, 2008 03:25 PM

Why wouldn't they? The philistines >:

Tadao Nov 24th, 2008 03:26 PM

I wish he did more Dirk Gently. I used to always start at the Adams area in the book store, see nothing new, and walk over to Pratchett to see if his latest is in paperback yet.

Asila Nov 24th, 2008 03:26 PM

Unless you count Salmon of Doubt which is the collection of his stuff that was gathered together after he died. I don't, but you could

Tadao Nov 24th, 2008 03:28 PM

I'll have to get that, I stopped going to his section after he died :(

Asila Nov 24th, 2008 03:33 PM

I like it a lot. It's got the unfinished Dirk Gently in it.

Kitsa Nov 24th, 2008 03:42 PM

I just found 20 bags of pop rocks in my closet (got them to hand out at halloween and handed out frankenberry instead). Any ideas?

Pub Lover Nov 24th, 2008 03:43 PM

None that I think you'd do. :(

:wank

Gasp. You must have a foreign body in your eye then. I :orgasm to my picture the other day.

Kitsa Nov 24th, 2008 03:46 PM

If any of us had anything going for us we wouldn't be here so damned often. :P

There's always next halloween.

Or get 20 cans of Coke and tempt fate.

Tadao Nov 24th, 2008 03:51 PM

I would love for you to give me a poprock enema.

Pub Lover Nov 24th, 2008 03:53 PM

Do you have a tired dad fetish, Ghost? :eek

Because they are obscure or because they are confusing and silly? >:

I'm sure I can spare the five minutes it would take to leave you unfulfilled and embarrassed. :love

This is pretty much the only way she would let me fuck her, so yay for that skeazy hoe's lack of hygiene. :orgasm

Don't worry, Kitsa. I'll do her after letting you down. ;)

Same here, but then again I can't enjoy any book that isn't satire. I was pretty skeptical about Pratchett (and Gaiman too, I guess) when my friend read Good Omens in about three hours and told me that it was very much like Douglas Adams' writing, but I gave the Colour of Magic a shot and now I can't put these books down. :(

Grislygus Nov 24th, 2008 03:55 PM

It's a lot like Douglas Adams if Adams geared the craziness down a few notches, then got all metacognitive and sociological

with dwarves

Pub Lover Nov 24th, 2008 03:55 PM

Stop cumming on your hands before picking them up. :rolleyes

Esuohlim Nov 24th, 2008 03:57 PM

Hitchhiker's Guide is my absolute favorite book and I seriously wish it was so long it was impossible to finish in a lifetime so I could keep reading and reading and reading and then I can die happy instead of inevitably depressed and alone. And hungry. :tear

Tadao Nov 24th, 2008 03:57 PM

I still haven't read making money and above, if there is an above.

Mostly harmless was a failure to me though. :(
It had a lot of good parts in it, but it just felt like he rushed through it to get it out of the way. Like a step child.

Asila Nov 24th, 2008 04:01 PM

I have Making Money but I haven't touched it yet because I didn't like the main character the last time he was used :(

Pub Lover Nov 24th, 2008 04:04 PM

A dude with a samurai sword just attacked the Scientology building in LA? :lol

I have occasionally considered a Discworld to be my favourite book, but I'm in the middle of Making Money & I find it really hard to get through for some reason. :(
