I started an OK Cupid account

All the people that message me just want me to subscribe to their webcam porn site. :(

There is a 34yo mother of two that lives near me and keeps checking my profile :(

I found the perfect woman that is attractive and likes what I like and she lives in California :(

This is more depressing than never meeting anyone ever again.

Pentegarn Jan 22nd, 2010 09:11 AM

Man, I haven't been to that site in almost 2 years when most of my online friends there left :(

Sorry to hear it has declined so badly, I met my current GF there.

EDIT: The 34 year old mother of two probably is just happy there is anyone near her.

Also, maybe there is some local singles site that you could try? Most places have them these days so I wouldn't be surprised to see a Tasmania one.

Isn't this what pubs are for? Afternoons in the pub for sensible relationships, nights out for pointless sex.

Zhukov Jan 22nd, 2010 10:11 AM

Actually I'm not as desperate as I sound. I thought I would give it a go and see if I could get someone to talk to online. I'm honestly not looking for either casual sex or a relationship right now.

I think I would be hard pressed to find someone for either of the aforementioned on this site though. As far as pubs go... I don't really see them as places to meet people either.

Sounds like a reason to move to california.

I signed up for the site back when it was brand new and bots weren't designed for it yet. It was fantastic because women outnumbered men 2 to 1 back then and I got tons of real women innocently just wanting to be internet penpals. The last time I checked it, I was only getting messages from rocker bitches with fauxhawks.

Every second woman is a bisexual, and I came across another perfect woman from the US. This is WRONG.

USA USA USA

Tadao Jan 24th, 2010 01:59 PM

I hope you aren't falling in love with me :O

Zhukov Jan 25th, 2010 07:08 AM

I open my email today and it tells me that I received an email from someone looking at my profile!!!

It was the fucking admin. >:

I don't think this site has anything for me relationship, or it's derivatives, wise. I think I might work up the courage to send a message to this one woman telling her how awesome she seems though.

Terra Jan 27th, 2010 10:14 AM

Yeah, I'm still waiting for you to send that message. FUCKER! >:

Zhukov Jan 29th, 2010 11:00 AM

Send me your pics and account and I'll give you a once over, Terra.

So today on the bus to work I saw someone from the OK Cupid site. No, I didn't arrange to meet on a bus, I just saw her randomly (Hobart is a very small "city"). I recognised her from her picture and I guess she recognised me too because she looked at me for a second then turned away embarrassed. I've read her profile and she has read mine. Weird to know that two desperate people have both not given the other a second thought/glance.

Dimnos Feb 3rd, 2010 11:58 AM

You didnt try to move in on that pink real estate?

Zhukov Feb 3rd, 2010 12:24 PM

Nah. God knows I probably could do with sex to cheer me up, but I'm just looking for interesting people that I actually like at the moment.

Dimnos Feb 3rd, 2010 12:38 PM

Good luck with that. :\

Tadao Feb 3rd, 2010 01:32 PM

Seriously. It never worked for me either. :lol

Tadao Feb 4th, 2010 12:16 AM

Was she even slightly cute or had big tits?

Zhukov Feb 4th, 2010 01:47 AM

Not enough to overlook my lack of interest.

Tadao Feb 4th, 2010 02:17 AM

That sounds oddly like eharmony speak.

Pentegarn Feb 4th, 2010 08:01 AM

eHarmony speak? The only eHarmony speak I ever heard was, "Sorry, you aren't christian enough for us" :P

Tadao Feb 4th, 2010 01:19 PM

:lol I was turned down because I was married. FUCK EHARMONY

Dimnos Feb 4th, 2010 02:32 PM

Seriously though, I, like about a million others who gave that sham of a site a try, was turned down because they were alarmed by the surprising amount of not going to church I do. Look, I am willing to believe there is something greater than man out there, I am even willing to believe that life is too organized and structured to have been randomly made by a puddle of goo. I just refuse to go into a building 1-2 times a week with a bunch of phonies and hypocrites and do ritualistic worship. The day I need an organized religion to be a good person who doesn't kill, steal, or cheat is the day I turn myself in. I already have something in my life that encourages me to behave. It is called not wanting to go to prison. So you can have your organized religion eHarmony.
