That is pretty much all I've heard about that game: you don't really do anything in it, and Ellen Page is naked for no reason.

I got Indigo Prophecy back in the day because it seemed so interesting, but I had enough of his brand of storytelling even before Heavy Rain.

Guitar Woman Dec 30th, 2013 10:52 PM

The only way I can possibly describe it in a single sentence is "The video-game equivalent of Zardoz." It's just a horrifying mindfuck shitstorm of everything that could possibly go wrong while creating a work of fiction. It's the kind of bad where you could theoretically get some intoxicated guffaws out of it if you played it with friends, and I certainly did, but the parts of the game that just shit on your soul with their awfulness make none of it worthwhile.

I feel like I've been mind-raped by a fat French hack. I've got Post David Cage Game Stress Disorder. I just... not even George Lucas could make something as stupid and illogical, as fucking offensive and repugnant, as this game. Cage writes like fucking Chris Chan, and he's got about the same stance in regards to gender politics. I just. Hate. I fucking hate. HOW DO PUBLISHING COMPANIES KEEP GIVING HIM MONEY?

I'd love to see the video recordings of all the mo-cap sessions from this game, because I want to see Ellen Page's face at the exact moment she realizes she's in the middle of the most colossal fuck-up of her entire career.

King Hadas Dec 31st, 2013 10:22 PM

Everybody complained about the bad acting in Heavy Rain so they got better actors for Beyond. Let's hope for a similar treatment towards the next game's script. Visually David Cage game's are great and I like the interactive storytelling, but christ get a fucking ghost writer you hack.

Just finished Transistor, really cool game with a very versatile combat mechanic. The soundtrack is also pretty good.

MLE Jul 7th, 2014 02:39 PM

Been playing Starbound. I like it.

ThrashO Jul 12th, 2014 04:01 PM

The online multiplayer on that isn't as much fun as I'd hoped.

I'm currently running through an inverted Castlevania with my demon familiar. Symphony of the Night is one of those games you just gotta go through every so often.

Phoenix Gamma Aug 24th, 2014 02:24 AM

I played Ultra Street Fighter 4 until I ragequit. That was maybe a week ago and I haven't picked up my fightstick since. Everyone says you need to put hundreds of hours to get good at it, and I had the realization that I could put that time towards literally anything else.

I'll probably go back to Shovel Knight and try for all the achievements, 'cause that game's hella tight.

All Hail Duke Sep 8th, 2014 02:27 AM

finished walking dead season 2

pretty good, and there's more options than season 1

a little let down there weren't any comic cameos this time

makaikishi Sep 20th, 2014 09:43 AM

Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines. 10 years on and it's still a fun game.

Ex Leper Dec 12th, 2014 07:10 PM

A friend of mine is getting me a Super Nintendo USB controller and a flash-drive of emulators to every NES & SNES game ever released, including bootlegs and japanese exclusive for Christmas. 90 percent of of which i've never played before.

Dr. Boogie Dec 16th, 2014 02:04 AM

I've been playing the hell out of State of Decay. It's probably my favorite zombie apocalypse game, even though it could use some more QA testing and multiplayer.

dextire Dec 16th, 2014 09:24 PM

I've been playing a lot of Faster Than Light. It's one of those "Losing is Fun" games but it's extremely addicting and actually is a lot of fun.

Alternating between Mario World and Boogerman

Supafly345 Jul 5th, 2015 03:05 AM

I'm playing with my wiener

Ant10708 Jul 10th, 2015 01:09 AM

Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii.

Great game so far.

MarioRPG Mar 12th, 2016 10:21 AM

I started playing Undertale, because it keeps getting recommended to me and I can see why. The humour is pretty clever, and it's probably the closest to Earthbound that I've seen. I'm only an hour or so in so who knows if it is worth it.

Esuohlim Mar 12th, 2016 01:50 PM

Let me know if it's worth it, son. I need another game like that in my life, and Mother 3 really disappointed me.

10,000 Volt Ghost Mar 12th, 2016 06:28 PM

The division is boss

Tadao Mar 12th, 2016 09:42 PM

The Division? Really? That game looks like shit to me. Then again I'm a PC gamer so I guess if you like auto aim games it's fun.

zeldasbiggestfan Mar 14th, 2016 03:37 AM

Undertale is the fucking shit. I highly recommend it to everyone, you deserve it if you like RPGs. Seriously, it's awesome but the fan base is creepy as fuck.

I'm actually on an RPG kick, I'm playing Super Mario RPG right now, and Twilight Princess HD. Sometimes Paper Mario TTYD, but fuck man. I have a lot to play and not a lot of time.

Tadao Mar 14th, 2016 12:55 PM

I played a little Hand of Fate and Darkest Dungeon. Liked them both but I have a hard time playing a game for more than 2 days anymore.

Having played more, the humour + vibe is more aligned with Mother 3. I've finished the game in 4 hours, might play through again sometime... Having said that I do recommend people check it out if they can get it on the cheap. I think I paid $6.
The battle system, specifically defending / avoiding attacks is neat and I like it, if a bit easy.

As was mentioned, the fanbase is supposedly pretty weird, but I haven't gone to check it out.

SuperYuriGagarin Mar 16th, 2016 12:24 AM

I've been dabbling in the Battlefleet Gothic RTS thats in beta right now, Rome II Total War, and a few other games.

Also honorable mention: Witcher 3 is probably the best video game ever made.

zeldasbiggestfan Jun 26th, 2016 02:23 PM

I just beat Limbo about 10 minutes ago. Good shit.

Sacks Jun 29th, 2016 12:47 PM

Picking away at DS3 when I have some time. Need to get back into SFV after a few months away. Regretting giving Mighty No. 9 a shot, don't bother if you haven't yet.
