Started moving into my on-campus apartment yesterday and met one of the other two roommates. The apartment's really kinda dull, but hopefully it'll look nicer as we all finish moving in. My mom was pissed, though; we went into me and my friend's room so I could unpack my bed stuff, and my roommate from last year was laying in the other bed with her boyfriend. After we left my mom was going on about how inconsiderate my roommate was, but really, it's to be expected in college...

It's terrible here, but it is everywhere. People'll be be the same from the time they're four until they're working some dead-end job. College is the same as high school is the same as a career.

the spanish class i'm taking this semester is costing $540 in required materials. it's absurd that they don't tell us this stuff before we register. really, for that amount i could just buy rosetta stone and hire myself a mexican nanny. :(

I used to cry after I bought my med school textbooks. But that was back when campus email was a novelty, let alone that wacky thing called the internet :(

I remember Grolier's Multimedia Encyclopedia on CD-Rom blowing my fucking mind when I started high school.

Seriously. It's fucking ridiculous. All my books this semester are about $200 each at the bookstore.

And Amazon is the shit. On there they're like 60 bucks each

The only book I'm buying is my ~$100 French. I've only bought one book since I started school last year.
