yeeeeeeeeah my boxes of Baccarats and h. upmans arrived today, and the chat thread is already talking about smoking

who else around here loves cigars?

except gw. if you like cigars, i just KNOW you'll go on and on about some mediocre crap like romeo and juliets (except actually referring to them as ROMEO Y JULIETTA) until you discover Punch and Arturo Fuentes and think that no one else knows about "your" two new brands

Grislygus Aug 22nd, 2010 07:34 PM

except that you're probably one of the many cigarette smokers that hold their noses and roll their eyes whenever cigars are mentioned, in which case your input is welcomed

Grislygus Aug 22nd, 2010 07:59 PM

I'm just kidding, no one else should give a shit about cigars

everyone SHOULD give a shit about the return of MrAdventure!

end of GrislyguSpam.

Started moving into my on-campus apartment yesterday and met one of the other two roommates. The apartment's really kinda dull, but hopefully it'll look nicer as we all finish moving in. My mom was pissed, though; we went into me and my friend's room so I could unpack my bed stuff, and my roommate from last year was laying in the other bed with her boyfriend. After we left my mom was going on about how inconsiderate my roommate was, but really, it's to be expected in college...

Yes but manners don't cost a thing.

Kitsa Aug 23rd, 2010 08:03 AM

most college-age manners issues stem from misguided "HEY LOOK I'M TOTALLY A GROWNUP NOW" bs.

Fathom Zero Aug 23rd, 2010 09:36 AM

It's terrible here, but it is everywhere. People'll be be the same from the time they're four until they're working some dead-end job. College is the same as high school is the same as a career.

Zhukov Aug 23rd, 2010 10:10 AM

No self respect, for one thing.

Tadao Aug 23rd, 2010 10:58 AM

OH YAY! ANOTHER BLOG!

BUTT MANNER COST THE MOST.

I'm suprised colleges don't offer road trip courses.

You could have suggested to Mom that she take some pictures of the happy couple to put up on her blog if she really felt that upset about it. It would have been a teaching moment for both Mom and your ex-roomie.

the spanish class i'm taking this semester is costing $540 in required materials. it's absurd that they don't tell us this stuff before we register. really, for that amount i could just buy rosetta stone and hire myself a mexican nanny. :(

elx Aug 23rd, 2010 04:00 PM

bability is bananas, double posting is super cool

10,000 Volt Ghost Aug 23rd, 2010 04:06 PM

lol, I thought it said "HIRE MYSELF A MEXICAN ARMY"

elx Aug 23rd, 2010 04:07 PM

so the average full time student is paying about $1,000 in book fees per semester...but that's not so bad compared to art students that have to pay double that with the required work materials :lol

Esuohlim Aug 23rd, 2010 04:13 PM

Just torrent your books :ROLLEYES

Also you're only paying that much if you buy from bookstores. Go online and you'll probably pay less than half that

RaNkeri Aug 23rd, 2010 04:18 PM

1000$ in book fees? Per semester? What the fuck

Dimnos Aug 23rd, 2010 04:42 PM

Amazon :rolleyes

Kitsa Aug 23rd, 2010 05:29 PM

I used to cry after I bought my med school textbooks. But that was back when campus email was a novelty, let alone that wacky thing called the internet :(

I remember Grolier's Multimedia Encyclopedia on CD-Rom blowing my fucking mind when I started high school.

Seriously. It's fucking ridiculous. All my books this semester are about $200 each at the bookstore.

And Amazon is the shit. On there they're like 60 bucks each

Fathom Zero Aug 23rd, 2010 06:40 PM

The only book I'm buying is my ~$100 French. I've only bought one book since I started school last year.

:lol

Esuohlim Aug 23rd, 2010 07:14 PM

everything is free on the internet

Fathom Zero Aug 23rd, 2010 07:15 PM

Not when you have to buy a book to get a code to use a shitty website to turn in homework.
