It's true, people really don't take care of their consoles. People bring their 360s to me all the time looking for tech support (not that I know how to fix any of this shit) and 90% of the time the problem is that someone knocked it over or the fan area is literally choked with dust and spider eggs.
Let's get something straight, though: The 360's hardware failures are monstrous compared to those of the PS3. That's a fact. However, Microsoft probably initially tested the 360 using people who know how to take care of a console, and not the inbred morons who actually ended up buying the thing and complaining when their hardware failed because they apparently live in mud huts. So Microsoft may have excused failtastic hardware because the failure rates were considerably lower in the laboratory. Or maybe Microsoft is honestly run by a cadre of hand-wringing Scrooges, I don't know. That's another thing to take into account, too: The 360's primary audience is mostly targeted between those golden ages of 12-24 year old males. In other words, the most irresponsible people on the planet. The PS3 is generally targeted toward older people who are interested in the Blu-Ray features and have the means to use the hardware that most younger folk don't. For every PS3 that comes to me in awful condition, there are at least 360s that have urine stains on them. |
There's certainly no denying that people are stupid. At the same time, I don't feel like that's an explanation for why failure rates are so high for this generation. Or at least why failure rates are so high outside of Florida.

The 360s probably just commit suicide because they know they won't get Killzone 2 :rolleyes

and both of my original NES systems still work perfectly
|
>:
And yeah, it's also a manufacturing issue. But it's incredibly easy to defend against. Or you could just send it in. Either way. |
Or you can get a console that you dont have to be afraid of breaking down constantly..and the 360's that red ring dont just happen because of people not taking care of their system, it's because of faulty hardware.
Microsoft rushed it out to market and see what happened? Vista had the same dilemma when it first launched. The only thing i see Xbox Live having over PSN is in-game cross voice chat, being able to send voice messages and in-game invites, and i dont think thats ever worth 50 dollars, microsoft tried to do it on the pc and guess what, no one paid 50 dollars for it. And to say a service is somehow better because you pay for it, thats not true, Valve doesnt charge you to use steam and its services, right? That's because they make money off games on the service they sell. And guess what, theres a store on the ps3! They make money off that and they do constantly add new features and listen to the fans. |
:lol

I've said my piece and now I am done.

People, please. It's ok to like the 360 while still acknowledging that each console has a certain chance of bricking. The reason people put up with it is because of the great gaming experience when it does work. |
I'd rather play a system that has games I want and dies then a system that doesn't die and has shit for games. :\
|
I don't know, i'd rather have a system with actual variety other than just Halo 3 and Gears of War 2, i have enough shooters on the PC.
|
Every console is shit.
http://www.gamesradar.com/f/10-reaso...32717493323082 Also, Microshock, you don't need to vehemently defend the PS3. Sony's a grown up. |
I have never seen someone who has an entire persona built around fanboyism.
|
Then you met Microshock.
|
Also, CELL PROCESSOR! Yeah, how you gonna beat that?!
|
Is that a component of your PS3, or some game?
I know I could easily open another browser tab and look it up myself but, meh. |
Yeah man the CELL PROCESSOR which gives developers the unique ability to make their cross-platform games look slightly worse than the 360 and much worse than the PC, how are you gonna' beat that?
Dr. Boogie: it's the CPU of the PS3 which is supposedly powerful but no twat can figure out how to use it properly so in practical terms it's about as good as the 360, maybe slightly less so. |
