Will we protect the Kurds?

ANKARA, Turkey (Reuters) - Turkey said Friday its troops would enter northern Iraq (news - web sites) to prevent an influx of refugees across its borders, but gave no date for an incursion the United States says it opposes.

Turkey's armed forces would also enter the Iraqi Kurdish enclave to prevent "terrorist activity," Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul told reporters at a news conference.

When our allies the Turks and our allies the Kurds sstrt shooting at each other, who's side do you think we'll take? It's hard to say. After all, one of the reasons were in Iraq is because of Sadams shameful murder of the Kurds. On the other hand, Turkey came across with the air space.

My guess? Kiss the Kurds goodbye. They don't have a stte, and stateless people get the fuzzy end of the lollypop.

This is the type of thing they should have been perfectly clear about going in. They know the Kurd situation is a problem, and they want to give them their own state, but unfortunately the kurds are also in turkey and iran.

Do you think Turkey and Iran will appreciate a new kurdish state right next door, when they have kurdish populations of their own that are going to want in? What does the US do then?

This could very well be the thing that makes or breaks the moral legitimacy of this campaign for the bush administration.

THIS WILL NOT BE A PROBLEM!

GEEZ!

....you people are looking for anything you can to run America into the ground.

WELL I FOR ONE AM RELIEVED.

THANKS RONNIE.

This is one of my biggest worries about the war right now. Once again the Kurds are going to get fucked royally. Perhaps the allied forces could mingle in with the Turks and try to steer their movements that way. Then again, it's not like the Kurds are going to be sitting still either.

Ronnie conviced me with the awesome shock of his argument.

He's like Condi Rice in pants. Well, when he's at work. I heard at home he's just like Condi Rice.

THAT'S NOT A LIE, NALDO, IT'S A JOKE!!!

I assume.

Fine Max, just wait a few days and you'll see that once again I was right and as usual you are wrong.

Will that make a difference.....no.

You'll keep balthering about you stupid conspiracy theories and keep trying talk down this country and the principles it was founded on.

Or perhaps this topic could be about the stressing situation between the Turks and Kurds, rather than the umpteenth attempt at stomping the American military into the ground.

I mean, personally I can see the dilemma here and I don't envy the choice military officials might have to make. But I certainly hope they can find a way to avoid a conflict.

Conspiracy? So the Turks aren't moving into northern Iraq??? YOU ALL LIE! >:

Uh...how is the issue of the Kurds a conspircacy theory?

If the world has any compassion in it, I say we split up Iraq and give a state to the Kurds, the Palestineins (on the eastern side, of course), and one to the original native Iraqis. Split it up like a cake and tell the kiddies to be thankful for what they get.

btw, I know there's a 80% chance that an idea like this would never work in modern politics. Just a thought.

............it was a thought.
