Megaman & Bass

I'm so horrible at megaman games, yet I can't stop playing them :(.

Perfect Suspect Apr 26th, 2003 03:50 PM

I have sucessfully beaten every MegaMan Game from 1-7 and X1 to 3 and Rockman & Forte (M&B for SNES). I never really got to play the ones for Playstation. I could never find them over there.

The original Nintendo ones have always been my favorite.

Ninjavenom Apr 26th, 2003 10:06 PM

Fuck yeah, sweet icon, Rongi.

Rongi Apr 26th, 2003 10:17 PM

Thanks ninja, I'm obsessed :(. Ever since I was a kid, Megaman has always been my favorite game.

I'm a dork :(.

whoreable Apr 26th, 2003 10:32 PM

I never really played a mega man game I loved since mega man 3 :( Mega man 4 was a bit of a let down to me and Something about the snes ones were less interesting to me :( Never tried any of the modern day ones

Rongi Apr 26th, 2003 10:34 PM

If you decide to try the X series, never play anything beyond X4. The rest blow ass :(.

NES Boy Apr 26th, 2003 11:04 PM

I wonder if they'll make patch of the SNES game with the GBA translation?

Cap'n Crunch Apr 26th, 2003 11:07 PM

Mega Man and Bass was put on Gameboy Advance. All of the GBA games are SNES ports, which is fine for me. I like the Mega Man games also, but I only beat a few. :/

James Apr 26th, 2003 11:17 PM

I owned MM&B. Not in the property way. The "You're my bitch, and I'm your daddy" way.

All 100 CDs, biatch.

Oh, and "All of the GBA games are SNES ports" is why I despise ever buying a GBA (aside from them screwing over their loyal consumers by making it impossible to see, only to bring out a new version less than 2 years later).

Cap'n Crunch Apr 26th, 2003 11:26 PM

The SP was brought out to boost sales of Nintendo because they were just barley making money. I don't own one myself, but I have an emulator.

whoreable Apr 26th, 2003 11:45 PM

I dont mind the fact that they released an updated system. I dont like the fact that the original gba didnt have a light. But it really shouldnt matter about a new version, no one has to buy it, it isnt like they are missing out on any games or anything. Now if it was a whole new system that with new games and they were dropping support for the original gba then yea I would be pissed.

I did get a gba sp and it is pretty fuckin nice. I want my goddamn flash cart so I can play some of these games at work >:

But I guess I am more of a hardware guy and dont see the problem in spending a bit more on the hardware when you spend so fuckin much for games :/

i think i got a bit off topic here. :(

Cap'n Crunch Apr 26th, 2003 11:50 PM

My brother got the blue GBA SP. It looks pretty nice, and I like how it folds up and the light too. I am going to make him get Mega Man and Bass.

mew barios Apr 27th, 2003 01:04 PM

does anyone else agree that forte and gospel are awesome names, but bass and treble are terrible awful crappy crappy crap? o.o ooo TREBLE BOOST :O what a megapowerful sounding attak. :/

Anonymous Apr 27th, 2003 01:35 PM

Well, I think Forte is definitely better than Bass.

I don't know about Gospel, though. Seems a little over-the-top. Treble isn't much better, though.

How about if they just called it the Bass Boost?

Also, what is this Treble/Gospel Boost that you're talking about?

Ninjavenom Apr 27th, 2003 01:55 PM

It's when they fuse together, and Bass can fly and shoot triple buster shots.

Well, technically, you are. When you can't see the game unless you're sitting on the fucking sun, you're pretty much missing out.

My problem is Nintendo fucked up, and they KNOW they fucked up. There were tons of complaints regarding the lighting problem. Sure, previous systems weren't backlit either, but the GBA's screen is also much more reflective than them too. Hence, game lights wouldn't help. I should know, as I tried three difference brands, all with the same result. Imagine taking a picture of the GBA in Photoshop, and adding a huge Lens Flare filter.

So not even two years (the average release for any new system is 4-5 years) later, they come out with a backlit system. And it costs not a whole lot more than the original GBA. So if they could make a handheld with backlighting without forcing the consumer to spend a whole lot, WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST FUCKING DO SO FROM THE BEGINNING?

Imagine it like this: Say the original Gamecube wouldn't work properly with certain TVs, causing the picture to look rather shitty. Now, instead of an adapter, or a recall service, Nintendo releases a new Gamecube a year and a half later without that problem for $50 more. You want a Gamecube that allows you to see your games properly? You need to dish out $300 to buy a whole new system.

Sure, you don't NEED the new Gamecube, but it's very irritating having problems with the system. But more importantly, wouldn't you feel the least bit cheated for being a loyal consumer, and supporting Nintendo's GBA at the start? I know I do. I wish I had kown that 2 years later, they'd release a better handheld. I could have saved myself $80, and my eyes from being strained.

whoreable Apr 27th, 2003 02:31 PM

Honestly I have to wonder if nintendo even knew how to light it, it seems they stole the idea from those afterburner kits. but then again I guess I shouldnt think nintendo is that dumb but then agian you never know.

I guess the stituation could be compared to the faulty lasers in ps2s that sony charge people to fix. I know at least three people with ps2s that have broken lasers, to me this is more frustratiing than anything.

mew barios Apr 27th, 2003 03:10 PM

TREBLE BOOOOOOST :O

Anonymous Apr 27th, 2003 03:14 PM

Ah, I see. In that case, perhaps it should be called "exploding armpit boost."

Yeah, I have bought X5 from my friend a year ago, the game is really disappointing, and it's all straigh forward and easy.

And Mega Man 4 kicked ass, especially Pharaoh Man and the Toad Man Stage.

Is it just me or is Megaman Soccer hard? I could never seem to do anything in that game.

Schimid Apr 27th, 2003 04:08 PM

I have played all the old school Mega-Mans, the ones on the NES.

I have NEVER beaten ANY Mega-Man level. But I like his dog. :)

Ninjavenom Apr 27th, 2003 04:51 PM

I think you had better leave now.

Lemme guess, Glass Joe had your ass on a platter also.

Schimid Apr 27th, 2003 07:58 PM

No, Glass Joe sucked.

I always lost to Bald Bull just so I could hear his laugh. :)

Perfect Suspect Apr 27th, 2003 08:14 PM

Bald Bull's was lame, he sounded like a turkey,Soda Popinski's was much better and much more menacing
