post your video game collection (pix plz)

I'm currently 1,500 miles away from my complete collection (meaning my NES and SNES collections :< ) so I'm going to post my last-gen stuff. You post yours too, jerk, and not some gay list either

Horror games! :D

Notice: Fatal Frame II :O Took me forever to find it.

And some DVD cases I made for some PS1 games, so my shelf wouldn't look stupid having the DVD cases interrupted by random CD-size cases.

Guitar Woman Oct 11th, 2007 08:53 PM

These are the games that I have!

LAMECUBE:

I also have RE1 and Twin Snakes but I forgot where I put them. Also before you sharp-eyed dickholes point out that I've got a Naruto game in there it's for my 7 year old brother and he doesn't know any better ok :[

GAYSTATION:

I have barely any PS1 titles because it's impossible to find good games for this thing in stores these days and I'm too cheap to pay for a mod chip to run burnt .bins.

NINTENDO SIXTY FOUR:

I could not for the life of me find Mario 64 or Perfect Dark. :(

DS:

These are actually my sister's games because I don't really own a DS. Also, I don't know why, but the EBA case claims to be for display only.

OLD FART NINTENDO:

I traded Double Dribble to a friend for Rambo a long time ago and now I realize that was a really stupid thing to do.

I've also got a SNES with Super Mario World, but I don't have a controller or power supply for the thing and I couldn't find the cartridge. And my PC game library is so ridiculously scattered and unorganized that I didn't even bother trying to get it together. Most of the computer games I have are just pirated, anyway.

Guitar Woman Oct 11th, 2007 08:53 PM

That's a holographic Majora's Mask cart, by the way. :D

Zomboid Oct 11th, 2007 09:59 PM

Pretty sure everyone had that kind.

Guitar Woman Oct 11th, 2007 10:13 PM

I think there are a handful of limited edition holo-cover ones, but that all the carts were gold or something.

Anyway my friends don't have holographic carts so it makes me feel special ok :(

Emu Oct 11th, 2007 10:15 PM

I live for holographic covers on games when I can find them :<

Zomboid Oct 12th, 2007 01:09 AM

Well, mine is holographic too and all of my friends had them too. I guess we were all just very lucky.

Guitar Woman Oct 12th, 2007 02:29 AM

Or you were nerds who bought it right away like me D:

Zomboid Oct 12th, 2007 03:16 AM

Got it for christmas and I'm pretty sure my mom didn't know enough about that kind of shit to look specifically for a holographic one.

timrpgland Oct 12th, 2007 01:17 PM

I'll take some pictures but do I have to take pics of all of them? I have over 400 games....

ArrowX Oct 12th, 2007 03:20 PM

Not pictured because I didn't have room: Shadowrun (360), chrome Hounds, Halo2, the darkness and, gears of war

limited and rare games

Fathom Zero Oct 12th, 2007 03:51 PM

Never sold Steel Battalion after all, eh?

HickMan Oct 12th, 2007 04:21 PM

If that's the legendary MC helmet, it looks like a shit-box

Guitar Woman Oct 12th, 2007 04:24 PM

I've been wanting to check out Stalker, how is it?

ArrowX Oct 12th, 2007 04:56 PM

Stalker is a really good game, its by no means marvelous due to a few technical issues but I'm pretty sure the patches fixed most if not all of them. The one thing it does amazingly is immersion, claustrophobia, and straight up fucking fear. Not the jump out and spook you kind, but the kind that eats away at you.

timrpgland Oct 12th, 2007 07:56 PM

It didn't work when I tried to put all pics in there so I'll post the urls. Anyway this will take a while so I'm just starting with some snes and genesis action since that era ruled.

Chojin Oct 12th, 2007 09:33 PM

I always loved how the original sonic cart had that 'NOT FOR RESALE' label in huge print right on the front, like it was the name of the game.

I remember being intimidated by that as a child :<

Guitar Woman Oct 12th, 2007 10:48 PM

I can't even see where it says "Sonic the Hedgehog."

Fathom Zero Oct 13th, 2007 02:19 AM

Sigh...

darkvare Oct 13th, 2007 06:59 PM

srry about shitty quality i had to use my webcam

yes i know two limited halo 2 i also have the standard but i lend it to a friend
also i am missing my mario kart game for gc, wii play, wii sports, saints row and my 43 xbox games i lend a friend with my original xbox

MLE Oct 15th, 2007 11:25 AM

Chojin and I will take pictures soon.

DuFresne Oct 15th, 2007 10:49 PM

Wow, I've got some embarassing crap.

I'll list the names as well, since it's sometimes hard to make out due to my crappy camera, especially on the PS1 and Gamecube games.

Also, these are just the games I brought to college with me. So all my NES, Genesis, 32X, N64, and (ironically, I know) Gameboy goodness is sadly absent. Also, no boxes. :(

Edit: sorry my post is literally half the page at this point. :\

Emu Oct 16th, 2007 10:44 AM

Man I will not envy you if that book gets stolen :(

MLE Oct 16th, 2007 12:44 PM

hahaha

Supafly345 Oct 16th, 2007 08:08 PM

Its very apparent that as gaming evolves, japanese games are becoming less and less dominant.

Emu Oct 16th, 2007 09:37 PM

Is that a good thing or a bad thing

Chojin Oct 16th, 2007 11:23 PM

it's great, as long as you can't get enough of guns and angry black people!

timrpgland Oct 17th, 2007 01:22 AM

Playstation stuff.

The one that has too much glare to see is Torneko

http://www.rpgland.com/grimnir/playstation1.gif

http://www.rpgland.com/grimnir/playstation2.gif

I'll do N64 next when I get the chance.

Guitar Woman Oct 17th, 2007 02:44 PM

Do you by any chance enjoy jRPG's, tim

timrpgland Oct 17th, 2007 03:37 PM

I happen to enjoy all sorts of games and to a certain extent, yes, I do like jRPGs. Just wait. More variety and good stuff to come.

Emu Oct 17th, 2007 04:15 PM

jRPG = what

Chojin Oct 17th, 2007 04:56 PM

jewish role-playing games.

Guitar Woman Oct 17th, 2007 06:07 PM

One reason I never liked the original Playstation was because it was filled with jRPG games which, aside from FF6 and Chrono Trigger, are really not my bag.

That and all the casual gamer crap like Gran Turismo and FIGHTAN GAEMS. Although I do enjoy Guilty Gear and Bushido Blade.

Guitar Woman Oct 17th, 2007 06:12 PM

Also, Emu: A jRPG is a linear, japanese RPG such as Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest. The opposite, the wRPG, would be an open-ended, all-choices-are-up-to-you good-or-evil RPG like Elder Scrolls or Fallout.

I don't know what the "w" stands for.

Emu Oct 17th, 2007 06:27 PM

Western, maybe?

Where do you kids get these crazy terms!

darkvare Oct 17th, 2007 08:41 PM

gaming magazines and such

Chojin Oct 17th, 2007 08:47 PM

GameInformer gives out secret decoder ring discs that only work on your PS3 and 360.

timrpgland Oct 18th, 2007 04:30 PM

Some N64 stuff. Super Mario 64 not pictured.

http://www.rpgland.com/grimnir/n641.jpg

Emu Oct 18th, 2007 05:33 PM

That's like every good N64 game. :(

Guitar Woman Oct 18th, 2007 06:08 PM

Those are some princely collections, Tim. I reccomend adding Gunstar Heroes, Um Jammer Lammy, and Banjo Tooie!

Also I really miss Quest 64 ;_;

DuFresne Oct 18th, 2007 06:15 PM

I've never played it, but I've only heard that quest 64 sucked. What was good and bad about it, exacctly?

Guitar Woman Oct 18th, 2007 06:23 PM

I'm not sure. I've heard people complain about it being overly simplistic, but I was a little kid when I played it so that probably wasn't an issue for me.

I guess there's not much of a plot to it, although I only rented it on weekends and to that effect never got farther than the second boss so I don't know. I could go back and try playing it again to see what it's actually like, although there's a good chance I'd be blinded by nostalgia because it was one of my favorite rentals back in the day.

DuFresne Oct 18th, 2007 07:10 PM

I have the same problem with Castlevania 64. I was too young to hate it back then, and now the nostalgia factor somehow still keeps me from getting pissed at its flaws. I was actually surprised a few years after I bought it to learn that many people consider it one of the WORST GAMES EVAR.

Emu Oct 18th, 2007 07:59 PM

I liked Quest too. I don't remember why but I never had the trouble with it people seem to have. Then again I might just be persistent :(

timrpgland Oct 20th, 2007 05:43 PM

Some Dreamcast and 2 snes games that weren't pictured, E.V.O. and Breath of Fire 2

http://www.rpgland.com/grimnir/dreamcast_2snes.jpg

Not sure what I'll post next.

HickMan Oct 22nd, 2007 05:18 AM

Aidyn Chronicles was a poop game

timrpgland Oct 22nd, 2007 02:48 PM

That's what I heard but after playing it I disagree. There are some major flaws to the combat system but the game is pretty neat for a N64 title. Huge world, lots of characters and a pretty nifty story once you get into it.

Guitar Woman Oct 26th, 2007 08:07 PM

Jesus christ, is that a framed picture of Gabe and Tycho?

Emu Oct 26th, 2007 09:10 PM

Can I come over? :(

Also what is it about SNESes that makes them turn piss yellow? And don't say 'smoking' because I've seen plenty that have turned ass colored in smoke-free homes.

Zomboid Oct 26th, 2007 09:26 PM

I read all about why that happens a couple years ago but I can't seem to remember where it was :O

MLE Oct 26th, 2007 09:28 PM

This is most certainly not a smoke-free house.

Oh, and Emu? You should come over.

Guitar Woman Oct 26th, 2007 09:37 PM

That'll give you cancer

Guitar Woman Oct 26th, 2007 09:41 PM

Not Emu coming over, the other thing

It's a framed LASER ETCHED CEL of Gabe and Tycho, yes

Emu Oct 26th, 2007 10:24 PM

Only the bottom half of my SNES changed color. The top half is still factory mould grey. :D

MLE Oct 26th, 2007 11:00 PM

mold? yes?

oh, and how far away from maryland are you

Emu Oct 26th, 2007 11:27 PM

I'm in Florida :lol

And I'd prefer to avoid Maryland for personal reasons I'd rather not discuss.

MLE Oct 27th, 2007 01:35 AM

Is it because of a gamer named stephanie?

Emu Oct 27th, 2007 02:22 AM

No, some drugged-up stalker fuck decided he wanted to marry my fiancee and was very very upset when she told him she'd rather be with me and threatened to break her neck (and then sent her an e-mail explaining that he was hallucinating and thought he was talking to me -- hence, he explained that he didn't want to kill her, he wanted to kill me, and that made it all okay!)

But let's keep that to loveline, huh!

Emu Oct 27th, 2007 02:31 AM

Oh and he's in Maryland. Mount Aire or something like that. If you live near there can you go kick his ass for me plz

Emu Oct 28th, 2007 05:12 PM

I've made a few new acquisitions, of which I will post pictures later. These include:

Castlevania: SOTN (greatest hits :[ )
Siren
Okami
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (player's choice :[ )

I'm looking to pick up Parasite Eve next when I have some money. I think I might also go blow 10 bucks and get some GTA games sometime.

Chojin Oct 28th, 2007 07:40 PM

Parasite Eve kinda sucked.

Guitar Woman Oct 28th, 2007 07:45 PM

Emu Oct 28th, 2007 08:14 PM

I liked Parasite Eve :<

Fathom Zero Oct 28th, 2007 11:04 PM

If Final Fantasy and Resident Evil dated for a while and put their retarded, ill-conceived baby up for adoption, Parasite Eve would be that baby.

I liked it.

timrpgland Oct 29th, 2007 12:52 PM

Very cool collection, MLE!

I rearranged some of my stuff over the weekend and will post some more pics tonight.

Quite a bit of it is extremely old and goes back to childhood. With 2 other brothers unfortunately some of those fortunes were divided.

The company I work for develops corporate websites/applications. I used to do marketing/search engine stuff for them but have since moved into App Dev. We still use ColdFusion quite a bit. Been there for a bit over 3 years. Before that I did tech support at a ISP for 4 1/2 years.

oh and I have more to show when I get the chance to move more stuff into/around.

HungryWantBiddy Nov 8th, 2007 12:50 PM

Tim, I hate you.

Fathom Zero Nov 10th, 2007 12:01 AM

I just bought a Playstation SCPH-1001 recently. It's the first one, with the RCA outputs in the back. It'll be my new stere-ereo.

I'm getting back into PS1 stuff. I'm pissed that Mega Man Legends 2 has become so obscenely expensive.

Guitar Woman Nov 10th, 2007 12:12 AM

Haha, enjoy your motor burning out.

Emu Nov 10th, 2007 12:14 AM

The MML games have not aged well.

Guitar Woman Nov 10th, 2007 12:16 AM

1 is still great.

I can't bring myself to play through the rest of them, although that could be because I don't want to have to figure out the order I have to beat the Mavericks in.

Wait, what?

Guitar Woman Nov 10th, 2007 12:21 AM

First gen Playstations have this thing where the motor fucks itself over after a certain point. Although since the things are really cheap nowadays it's less of a problem than it used to be.

It's sort of like the original 360!

Mavericks are the X series, dipshit. Megaman Legends is a two-game series on the PS1 and (as far as I know) the only Megaman games worth talking about that aren't 2D sidescrollers.

Guitar Woman Nov 10th, 2007 12:24 AM

Uh, yeah, for whatever reason I misread that :<

I still like Legends, too :<

Emu Nov 10th, 2007 12:26 AM

I tried playing MML1 again and just found it to be irritating. It feels like it can only move in 8 directions and the lock on system is on crack.

Guitar Woman Nov 10th, 2007 12:29 AM

You don't even need to use lock on, though, your shots just fly to the nearest enemy

Which is usually the one you need to shoot, so don't give me crap about strategy

Fathom Zero Nov 10th, 2007 12:32 AM

Oh well. I'll swap the motor for one from one of my other Playstations.

By the way; Heavy Metal 2000 rules, Tim.

Fathom Zero Nov 10th, 2007 10:48 PM

If you mean "Megaman Legends," just say "Megaman Legends."

Ye've have me confused until just now. Both the games are great. If you have trouble with the controls, you should try the one for the N64 or whichever console you're not playing it on. They had some compelling story, too.

Anyways, I just bought me a Wonder Swan.

Emu Nov 11th, 2007 07:42 PM

Two of these are not new acquisitions but I did make new boxes for them so I took pictures. Those of you with acute senses may notice the scanlines on the FFT and SOTN cases. This is due to the fact that my printer is a piece of shit, or at least the black ink dispenser. If one of you could assist me in remedies for this I would be

Regardless of the poor quality print, I love these. :<

We ♥ Katamari and Parasite Eve are both missing instruction booklets, although PE has the bonus disc that is generally hard to find. FFT is also missing its instruction booklet and original labels, although I know where those are, and I'm about 1,500 miles away from them. :[ Otherwise, everything else here is complete.

Fathom Zero Nov 12th, 2007 01:03 AM

I have the HP Deskjet Somethingoranother and it prints well. Damn, I love the Cover Project.
