No! The novel did not inspire the series. Are you retarded? The television programme was based on the radio show and then the book was a reworking of the the telly scripts. What book are you even fucking reading? Are you German? Even then the book would be called Roter Zwerg. Rob Grant and Doug Naylor. It says that on every goddamn copy of the book unless you pull the pages out at random to wipe your drooling gob without first reading them. You have really pissed off the the ten year old deep inside me that had that as his favourite book.
