3D Dot Game Heroes
We're pre-ordering an import copy of this game. It comes out in Japan in November, and it comes out in this house whenever our package arrives after that. |
EXCITED EXCITED EXCITED EXCITED EXCITEMENT
I LIKE THIS |
Holy shit, that looks like Legos and Zelda had a baby.
|
And that baby's name was "Excitement," FZ's got the right idea.
Basically I've realized this afternoon that I have to forget about this game or it'll drive me crazy. It's taken care of. I need to forget about it until it shows up here and we play the fuck out of it. |
3D-2D games
|
|
is this like a game maker cause if it its i want it even more
|
As far as I know, it's a game.
|
Finally! PS3's graphics put to the test!
But seriously, the shading and effects look great. |
Yeah, it's a game.
And I can't wait until it's in my grubby little hands. We just bought Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. |
We got it yesterday.
Fuckin' fuuuuuuuun. It's just like playing a new Link to the Past again. And it's just as "you're on your own" as the original Zelda because it's in Japanese (also it's designed that way). |
>:
I have to wait for the localization, then. |
It may be some time, if at all. Apparently the first-day sales weren't so good, which is weird.
I think the majority of gamers dismiss it as a gimmicky Zelda rip-off. And yeah it definitely takes a lot from the 2D Zelda games as well as other old games, but as far as I'm concerned: those games were fun. |
when does it comes out in the us i just got a ps3 so is now in my radar
|
IT MIGHT NOT EVER COME OUT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND THE FIRST DAY SALES WERE TERRIBLE
|
i don't care if sales suck i want the effing game
|
You can still import it, which I may have to do. Eh.
|
YOU CAN'T HAVE IT
|
DUCK YOU IT'S MINE
|
Someone is making Nintendo games for the PS3.
|
No, they're making PS3 games for the PS3.
It's "definitely" coming to the states, according to the developers, but they haven't gotten a US publisher or anything, so it may be some time. Importing it is possible but there is a bit of dialogue and things that wouldn't be possible to figure out without help from a guide (none exist currently but some specific details are explained on the GameFAQs message board). For example: to get the fourth spell, you have to talk to an NPC in an inn, hit her three times, talk to her again, hit her again, and then talk to her. There are lots of random people who give you yes/no questions that we haven't figured out what for yet (usually arrow upgrades, etc.). The guy I live with knows some Japanese, so that helps, but most of the menus and such can be figured out by trial/error, if you're into that. It may be worth waiting for the local release, though. There are multiple towns with multiple people in each, and lots of little secret caves. Essentially it's like playing a new version of an old game--like a re-done version of Link to the Past--like a LttP ROMhack--WITH ASH FROM EVIL DEAD. (actually the loading screens in the game are based on old video game covers and such ( http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2009/10/...oading_scr.php ), and one of them is totally Ash) |
It's coming to the US in May of 2010, which isn't really too far away. The MSRP will be $39.99, so it's coming out of the gates cheaper than most games.
I'd keep it in mind if I were any of you! |
|
It is rather shameless in it's 'borrowing' of all things Zelda.
Still, I would play it |
It's a top-down scroller with a medieval setting. Not a lot of room there to squeeze around Zelda. Besides, I think parody was what they were shooting for.
I always thought the character design was more reminiscent of Dragon Warrior. |
