Shameless Plug Thread
I know that there are probably only 4 people who post here who live within 3 states of Florida and would ever be able to come here, but I'm really fucking bored at work, so I took some pictures of my workplace and some of the crap we sell.
They're not in any particular order. These are some displays. People ask how much they are at least twice a day. I hate them. This is for sale. $175. I love it. A Jaguar. Everybody laughs at it. A 3D0. It's also funny. Retro-Duos. These things sell like hotcakes. They play SNES and NES games, including imports. They use a standard SNES input so you can use official SNES controllers on them. No input for a light gun, though. :( A stack of Saturns. Nobody knows what they are. A CDX. It's one of Sega's many abortions. It plays Genesis/Megadrive and SegaCD/MegaCD games. It's fucking beautiful and I want it. An Atlus game. Not sure why I took a picture of this. Self explanatory. unnnghhhh We also have a boxed set of Silver Star Story but it looks like garbage so I didn't photograph it. Sum ps1 more and more SNES. It looks a little bare because that space in the middle is reserved for Mario games. People buy them all the time so they're guaranteed to sell within a day of being put out. I want the Mega Man X set. N64. Dreamcast shit. There's a set of sealed games in the back that aren't for sale. Import PE2. An honest to god copy of Super Noah's Ark 3D. I never thought I would see one. A hilarious gimmick controller for the PS2 RE4. Growlanser fans shop here. 360 stuff. NES. They're beautiful. Duplicate games. Mostly PS2. The worst PS2 controller ever conceived. Again, self explanatory. I'd have more pictures but I ran out of space on my card. Also I'm lazy as hell darth vader wants you to chug |
That RE4 Chainsaw is awesome looking.
|
HOLY SHIT!!!!
can I have your job please edit: could I seriously probably purchase those Dragon Warriors? How much are they? |
I spotted the Beast Wars game for n64. That's the first time that I was reminded of its existence since reading about it when it was first being made :O
|
Some truly great stuff in your store there Emu. What's the name of the place anyway? You didn't say...
I have that Resident Evil chainsaw controller too, but the original one that came out for the Gamecube. Great display box and bloody as hell. It's a total novelty of course, but damned if it isn't one of the coolest ones I've ever seen. |
EMU I NOTICED YOU HAD BREATH OF FIRE 3 FOR THE PLAYSTATION IN YOUR LITTLE PICTURES THERE.
I FUCKING WANT IT. >: |

$49.99 each. I want them too. :[ |
How much for the Sega CD?
|
Shutup.
There are a shitload of stores all over Canada that sell retro-gaming hardware. |

There's a store like this near my house, only it's incredibly overpriced and doesn't have half that stuff. It's the only one in MD, too.
Then again, $175 for the Control Deck and $60 for a Jaguar seems a little steep. If I PM'ed you a list of NES/Genesis/SNES games I'm desperately looking for, could you by any chance find out the prices? :3 |
damn i want a place like that i love buying old used shit and then complain about the fact that i can't play nostalgia :(
|
hahaha I love how Dragon Warrior is over priced all the time SIKE NAH! Jesus, seriously what a turn off to the series on the NES.

Another long day, so more photos.
A second-gen Sega CD. It's kinda skanky looking and the door doesn't stay closed unless you physically push the open button back into the closed position. Though, knowing Sega, this may be intentional. A first gen Sega CD. Not for sale. :( We killed Master Chief. DS stuff. Speaking of DS, we occasionally sell replacement parts for some systems. They're generally knock-off brands made in Taiwan or something. The packaging is always hilarious, like this DS replacement shell: The back of the package says this, verbatim: "1.For the various bright colors, you can choose what you like. 2.Make your game console look much newer and more beautiful. 3.Meet your individual seeking." More gimmick controllers. The Street Fighter one is just like the ones they released for SF4, but wired and for the PS2. We sell player's guides. Some of them are cool, like the following. Some of them are less cool, like this monstrosity I found. I wasn't able to get a decent photo that properly portrays the absolutely bizarre artwork on the cover of this thing because my camera is awful. So here's this blurry thing. It's as though they hired an artist, gave him a handful of games and told him to draw from them. Most notable is Trisomy 21 Link on the bottom left corner, who has yellow eyes, no pupils, and is basically just a fat elf. I guess that's how he looked in the game, too, so I can't fault him on that. It also seems to have some kind of hatred for vegetables. We have a tomato getting hit with a baseball bat, a carrot being fired out of a canon, and a lonely onion with stink lines sitting on a cloud in the top left. He's also crying. Not to mention that dragon. I don't think anything needs to be said about it. Just look at it. Another gimmick controller that looks awesome but seems like it would be awful to actually play with. The first Nintendo Power. We also sell movies :) |
That's the first Nintendo Power strategy guide, not the first Nintendo Power. :(
|
I thought they were the same thing. My mistake.
|
Yeah the first Nintendo Power had an awesome clay sculpture of Super Mario Bros. 2. Here it is:

That's a pretty awesome store. Most of our local shops like that pretty much suck but that's northern Minnesota for you.
|
How much for one of those Retro Duo systems? And would you ship to NY?
|
Down in Columbus Ohio we have something pretty good retro video game shops. They have a lot of rare gems that they don't even know are worth good amounts. I've purchased Magician for NES for $10, now that's amazing. But I'm going to have to say you're store is by far better than anything around here.

Edit: I also wanted to make clear that I do not own or operate this store, I just work part time there. I just love the place and would like to encourage business. The internet's probably not the place to do that given store policy of local business, but if you're in the area, come check it out. Also, I bought that CDX today. :3 |
you should suggest to the owners to consider doing online sales and set up a site. I imagine that store would do well online
|
I actually did suggest it, but the owner refuses to put his stuff online. He knows they'll sell online, but then he'll be like all of the other retro stores in the area and have nothing actually in the store. I have a lot of respect for him for that reason.
|
Heheh, he wouldn't even need to setup a store online really. He could just put shit up on eBay and make a killing, but I can totally understand wanting to have inventory for the brick & mortar business.
