I hope this eventually comes out for the ps2 as well. Otherwise I'll never actually get a chance to play it.

I Hope this a RE for the GC style remake

Guitar Woman Mar 30th, 2009 10:55 AM

Fuck yeah.

SH1 is the only one that can stand its ground as a horror game, I think, and I could never really figure out if that was because it was genuinely well made or if the hardware limitations made everything more grotesque looking.

Either way, I'm totally getting this. Here's hoping they get way, way, way better voice actors.

And that they don't jump out and go RAILSHOOTER, COCKFAGS at some point.

MarioRPG Mar 30th, 2009 12:28 PM

Yeah, I'm hoping that they improve the voices a little. That'd be swell.

Dimnos Apr 2nd, 2009 02:46 PM

I hear they took combat out. You have to run from everything. How gay is that?

Durrsomething Apr 2nd, 2009 06:54 PM

Aw man, I wanted a port of the arcade game......... :(

Guitar Woman Apr 2nd, 2009 08:19 PM

One of my favorite horror games is Capcom's Haunting Ground, where there is no combat. It works brilliantly, actually. You're only generally up against one enemy at a time, but he roams in real time and you can encounter him when you least expect it. It made the enemies memorable and significant instead of just another spawn monster that you need to kill in order to move forward. SH1 could do this fantastically.

Besides, just because there's no combat doesn't mean there aren't ways to kill the enemies. You may have to set off traps using the Wiimote. This has the potential to kick fucking ass and after SH5 they fucking owe me.

Guitar Woman Apr 2nd, 2009 09:32 PM

Yeah, Clock Tower and the like are absolutely terrifying :<

Any game can spruce up the scarybollocks with a dynamic immortal stalker character. Why, just ask Metroid Fusion!

Here's another link. The top picture reminds me of an old nes covers.

I think the flashlight has the potential to make this game intolerable scary.

If that is the direction they take it, it could be bad ass. On the PS1 I ran past as many enemies as I could but I also remember areas with small enemies you just had to mow down to get anywhere. In the school... all the little ankle bitting dead babies... There were hallways where you just had to put the little bastards down to get past. Im just skeptical about the no combat, but It could work out to be really great.

Cedar Apr 5th, 2009 12:57 PM

i hope they don't change the gameplay

Emu Apr 5th, 2009 03:25 PM
