Oh god, Vernors >:

10,000 Volt Ghost Aug 14th, 2009 10:42 AM

Vernors is delicious.

Aaarg Aug 14th, 2009 12:07 PM

I've seen Vernors everywhere.

I think I'd seen Cheerwine once or twice before moving down to NC.

Kitsa Aug 14th, 2009 12:10 PM

I can't stand vernor's. I like Canada Dry, specifically the cranberry one they sell from Nov-Jan.

I also like Birch Beer but they don't sell it here.

dirtyxblondexdame Aug 14th, 2009 12:28 PM

wish the Stewarts drinks didn't cost $8 for a 6-pack :(

Aaarg Aug 14th, 2009 01:47 PM

Flavored Canada Dry is delicious, indeed. Except the green tea kind. I like green tea, I like ginger ale, you would assume they'd blend well. Nope.

The best soda I can remember ever having is Boylan's. I don't know how far their distribution is or even where they're from, but every so often I'll come across them (in the General Store in Clifton, VA; in the Spy Museum Cafeteria in DC; in a sandwich shop in Manassas, VA). All of the flavors I've tried have been delicious - root beer, orange cream, grape.

Also there's some Virginia-based bottling company that makes root beer that I think I've come across in only two shops (one's a farmer's market near Winchester and the other is a souvenir shop near the WV border along US522). If I remember, it's pretty good.

Jones is fucking gross.

Kitsa Aug 14th, 2009 01:52 PM

I can deal with Fufu Berry but I'm not way into the other Jones flavors.

10,000 Volt Ghost Aug 14th, 2009 01:53 PM

I like Canada dry but not the flavored kind. Only place I can ever find birch beer is at a bar. Totally worth going too because they have 10 cent wings too.

Aaarg Aug 14th, 2009 02:16 PM

The Jerry's Subs & Pizza in Lake Ridge, VA has birch beer.

Kitsa Aug 14th, 2009 02:17 PM

I used to get it in Jersey when I was on vacation from school in Ithaca. Once I came back to the Midwest, though, no more birch beer. I found some bottled at Jungle Jim's, but it's not nearly as good as draft.

Aimless Aug 14th, 2009 02:19 PM

http://www.jonessoda.com/ I haven't been able to bring myself to try their holiday flavors, like gravy..ugh. Strawberry lime is the best.

dirtyxblondexdame Aug 14th, 2009 03:10 PM

best birch beer in NJ is at Hot Dog Johnnie's out in West Bumblefuck (somwhere around Butler). homemade and delicious :)

now i want some.

Colonel Flagg Aug 14th, 2009 03:34 PM

Birch beer is effing awesome. It's one of the best reasons to live in Pennsy. :)

I'm also partial to Black Cherry Wishniak (Is it Frank's? Thanks!)

:D

dirtyxblondexdame Aug 14th, 2009 04:12 PM

beer friday at work. smirnoff ice green apple isn't that bad. isn't that great either.

Mad Melvin Aug 14th, 2009 04:14 PM

Hello people.

I don't want to be an attention whore, so I'll just announce my grand return to the forums in here. That is all for now.

The Leader Aug 14th, 2009 04:21 PM

Get lost.

Mad Melvin Aug 14th, 2009 04:25 PM

Fuck you.

The Leader Aug 14th, 2009 04:26 PM

I wish someone would.

But that's neither here nor there.

Why even do this much?

Mad Melvin Aug 14th, 2009 04:33 PM

because I am insecure and need the approval of strangers.

captain516 Aug 14th, 2009 05:09 PM

I DO NOT APPROVE OF YOU MELVIN. DOES THAT HELP?

Is "neither here nor there" your specification as to preference, or just an incidental?

Tadao Aug 14th, 2009 08:22 PM

Kitsa Aug 14th, 2009 08:28 PM

I got a Kohl's giftcard ($10) in the mail as a promotion. I went on a Wednesday and bought off the clearance rack. Clearance rack + whatever the hell sale they were having + giftcard = $75 worth of clothes for $4.77, tax included.

I can't help but think that's not the way they wanted it to work. But hell, if I have to shop for clothes at all I'd sooner they cost $5 than $75.

There was a lady in there trying to buy someone else's used pants (they'd stolen a new pair and put their old ones on a hanger). She got what they were saying about their being some stranger's used and nasty pants, but she didn't get why they wouldn't sell them to her.

Esuohlim Aug 14th, 2009 08:41 PM

HI MAD MELVIN

I REMEMBER YOU, YOU HAD AN ALFRED E. NEUMAN AVATAR

UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE TOO MANY FINLAND REPRESENTATIVES AROUND HERE THESE DAYS :(

Esuohlim Aug 14th, 2009 08:43 PM

Actually just the one I think, but it's still too many :x

Zhukov Aug 15th, 2009 04:50 AM

Hello Mad Melvin, how was military life?

If I recall corectly, which I probably don't, Mad Melvin was from Norway.

RaNkeri Aug 15th, 2009 05:19 AM

That was Pjalne

Zhukov Aug 15th, 2009 05:51 AM

Well, I thought it was Mad Melvin. Anyway, Mad Melvin seemed like a decent chap to me.

Mad Melvin Aug 15th, 2009 08:34 AM

Yeah, I was in the army back in 2004. After that I was working in various crappy jobs and decided to apply for a polytechnic institute. I studied for about three and a half years and graduated a few months ago. Now I have a crappy job again. Yay. I'm in a steady relationship and WITH A WOMAN no less. We also have a dog and it has the most vile and horrible farts you can imagine.

So that's my life in a nutshell. :x

RaNkeri Aug 15th, 2009 09:21 AM

The same woman who's ex jumped off a roof?

Ugh. No. This one is actually classified as a human.

The Leader Aug 15th, 2009 12:16 PM

What, did he jump to get away from her?

10,000 Volt Ghost Aug 15th, 2009 12:16 PM

Is clement in Doc Mocks movie mausoleum episode 10? It kind of looks like him on the main page with the machete.

or maybe she was sooo amazing that after they broke up he decided he couldn't live without her

The Leader Aug 15th, 2009 12:52 PM

It was you, wasn't it?

Zhukov Aug 15th, 2009 01:00 PM

I'm guessing some kind of micro chip or hypno-therapy that caused him to destroy himself if he ever broke up with her.

But we'll never know because Scandinavia is offline now, and the topic will have changed by the time it gets back online.

Mad Melvin Aug 15th, 2009 03:16 PM

That may be true, but the smart ones buy extra rations of the internets from the black market. Now I can surf the inter of nets almost 5 hours a month!

Oh man. That was lame. Sorry.

Dixie Aug 15th, 2009 04:21 PM

I FUVCKING HATE BANAN ANAS!!!

Shrubfest Aug 15th, 2009 04:48 PM

I feel quite ill. Do I have swine flu?

The Leader Aug 15th, 2009 04:52 PM

What symptoms do you have? :posh

Shrubfest Aug 15th, 2009 05:19 PM

Allsorts. Nausea, exhaustion, headache, too warm, achy joints, sore and swollen throat.

But most of these can also be linked to other medical problems i have. Except a vaguely different feeling of ill than usual.

Aaarg Aug 15th, 2009 05:38 PM

Dude whatever bananas are good. We didn't get any bananas in because the produce manager didn't order them because she came in to write her order with a terrible hangover. It's bad for a grocery store to go a whole weekend without bananas.

Aimless Aug 15th, 2009 05:41 PM

bananas are the number one selling produce item, right?

MattJack Aug 15th, 2009 06:15 PM

Bananas are indeed good.

You know what else is good? Bourbon :southernfgt

Dixie Aug 15th, 2009 06:16 PM

Not in my life. stupid bananas

MattJack Aug 15th, 2009 06:18 PM

MattJack Aug 15th, 2009 06:22 PM

MattJack Aug 15th, 2009 06:23 PM

Dixie Aug 15th, 2009 06:30 PM

Dixie Aug 15th, 2009 06:41 PM

it happened like last week or maybe 2 weeks ago, i don't know......
but by the grace of Boogie, it happened.

MattJack Aug 15th, 2009 06:42 PM

Man CiG was so much cooler. You went from metal head to crosses? for shame.

We can talk this out, maybe have a group hug, and then get you back into your CiG clothes.

Dixie Aug 15th, 2009 06:44 PM

i have a very legitimate reason to why i changed it all, but i will not discuss it here.
:P

The Leader Aug 15th, 2009 06:44 PM

Dude, she needs to lay low for a while until the heat blows over.

The Leader Aug 15th, 2009 06:45 PM

You don't kill a man in Armpit Central and just get away with it.

MattJack Aug 15th, 2009 06:45 PM

man this is bananas

MattJack Aug 15th, 2009 06:46 PM

Well now I have to find a new noob to troll. Anybody got dibs on elx yet?

The Leader Aug 15th, 2009 06:46 PM

Aimless Aug 15th, 2009 06:46 PM
