comic book games

from atari to xbox which comic book games did you enjoy.

i always liked xmen 2 on genesis mainly because you get to run around as beast or nightcrawler, and later even get to fight as magneto. I also liked the hulk game for genesis as well. Crawling around as bruce banner added some great gameplay.

in more recent days i have been playing a lot of Ultimate Spiderman. Similar to spiderman 2 (PS2) because of the free roaming. Its fun to boot up and just run around webslinging and save people from thugs or one about to fall off of a building. One of the cooler features is the ability to play as venom, Ultimate Venom, but Venom none the less.

Also i dusted off Hulk: Ultimate Destruction just for some HULK SMASH action

i don't like comic book games, but i do like game comic books

that one that came with yars revenge was pretty frickin sweet

Does the "Ride the Comix" virtual reality ride at Disney Quest count? If so, that's the best comic book game ever.

Dr. Boogie Aug 4th, 2006 01:52 AM

What about Comix Zone? That was a cool game, even though it wasn't actually based on a specific comic book.

in my youth I thought the metroid comic was pretty badass, but now it's just unintentionally hilarious :(

Emu Aug 4th, 2006 11:14 AM

i think the metroid comic is badass

Maximum Carnage was good, if ridiculously hard

Grislygus Aug 4th, 2006 03:19 PM

I'd like to throw in some support for Comix Zone. The whole thing was an awesome take on the old beat-em-up.

Zomboid Aug 7th, 2006 02:07 AM

Comix Zone was easily one of my favorite games for genesis and I still always end up playing through it when I'm browsing through my genesis roms. Same goes for X-Men 2 and hulk.

Most of the newer ones are pretty cool too. Getting rare to find one that I don't like, in fact.

Juttin Aug 7th, 2006 02:09 AM

Comix Zone ( SHUTUP) and Maximum Carnage.

I think Maximun Carnage CAN be easy to beat, if you know where all the lives/ continues are at

No Seperation Anxiety? X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse game on SNES was an Capcom game.
edit: It was ingenious

Seperation Anxiety just wasn't all that good :/

Trash Aug 8th, 2006 07:32 AM

I like the Hulk for the SNES.

RaNkeri Aug 9th, 2006 01:59 AM

The Punisher for Arcade and genesis <3

ArrowX Aug 9th, 2006 04:51 AM

The Newest Punisher game. Possibly the best shooter to come out in a long time.

Also I almost shit my pants in the part where Castle and Nick Fury Co Op in that jungle mission.

Ninjavenom Aug 9th, 2006 10:36 PM

Separation Anxiety was the poor man's Maximum Carnage. It had none of the things that made MC great, and the Venom clones were lame.

I am really enjoying Ultimate Spider-Man right now, though. Hell of fun, especially Venom.

Misdemonar Aug 9th, 2006 11:32 PM

Venom is for pussys.

Juttin Aug 10th, 2006 01:24 AM

I seldomly used Venom, as his mechanics just weren't my style.

Or the MC Tacticians M.O.

kinot Aug 10th, 2006 06:55 AM

At least it was 2 players :/

Wrong. Anything even remotely Venom related is instantly masculine and awesome.

Misdemonar Aug 10th, 2006 08:09 PM

I'm masculine and awesome, and I don't have a long tongue/is black.
