the movies also have kind of a snobbish boringness to them like harold and maude or something like that

pac-man Nov 3rd, 2008 09:54 PM

Bender's Game. It's funny, but moreso than the first two movies it really comes across as a long episode.

I have Harold and Maude but have never seen it. When I first saw the movie I thought Topher Grace was in it.

Looking forward to Futurama movie tomorrow. I didn't like Beast with a Billion backs at all.

Then you will like Bender's Game. Different tone than BWABB altogether.

Just finished Bender's Game. This was amazing. Thanks Paccy. I was going to rent it but ended up buying it instead.

Pineapple Express - Meh. Not really that great. It was kind of like a Cheech and Chong film without cheech or chong. Some parts were funny but overall it was mediocre.

Tropic Thunder - At the start this was funny but slowly deteriated over the course of the film. Worth renting - not worth buying.

Went to Role Models last night. It was pretty good. Paul Rudd and Sean William Scott cohese pretty well. It wasn't anywhere near as good as "The Ten" or "Wet Hot American Summer" but still worth going to see.

Role Models: Was very funny. I'd recommend seeing it.

I went to see Saw 5 last weekend -- they are just trying too hard now. Did anyone else feel like it was mostly made up of footage from the previous movies?

other than that, watched "Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film" last week. Love it.

Tadao Nov 10th, 2008 10:04 AM

Really about saw 5? Dang :(

casino royale(2007) - still awesome

Tomorrow never dies - terrible

BLEU Nov 15th, 2008 04:27 PM

Rear Window. I love the sassy in-home nurse.

Just saw C.H.U.D. for the first time a night or so ago. I remember always wanting to watch it but never found the time...

Battle Net Edition Nov 17th, 2008 05:22 PM

I concur with the opinions regarding role models.

pac-man Nov 17th, 2008 06:23 PM

I saw Role Models, as well. It's rare that an R-rated comedy is laugh out loud and has a plot and characters that are interesting/likable.

executioneer Nov 18th, 2008 04:15 AM

quantum of soclace, it was pretty good!

BLEU Nov 18th, 2008 02:39 PM

Kung-Pow! Enter the Fist

Is it wrong that I still think this movie is hilarious? And WHERE'S the sequel already?

seesawbooy Nov 18th, 2008 04:01 PM

Zack and Miri Make a Porno. 3.5 pickles out of 5

10,000 Volt Ghost Nov 18th, 2008 06:19 PM

The first half of Kung-Pow was awesome. Toward the end though it started to wane pretty hard.

If I could splice the first half of Kung-Pow and the second half of Anchor Man I would have a movie I liked the entire way through.

ZeldaQueen Nov 18th, 2008 06:31 PM

Flushed Away/Shrek the Third (my dad was switching between them on the tv).

Microshock Nov 19th, 2008 09:22 PM

I just saw Quantum of Solace twice in a row and I really love the movies. Casino Royale is still better but that's because it's just a classic in general right now.

This movie had a different tone, style, but it still works and Daniel Craig is still the best Bond ever.

And you finally get to know the organization Le Chiffre was in and Mr.White , etc.

Just don't expect you'll get a movie better than Casino Royale, that movie is so fucking good i bought the 2 disc blu-ray for 30 bucks.

And i'll buy the blu-ray for QOS first day too

Batman

Man, this movie was such a nostalgia trip, it reminded me of the times when I used to have a toy batmobile with different functions and sound effects :(

Guitar Woman Nov 22nd, 2008 01:10 AM

The Cowboy Bebop movie!

Basically it was a 2 hour episode of the show with a bigger animation budget. Pretty good.

LittleDollClaudia Nov 22nd, 2008 05:03 AM

Repo! The Genetic Opera.

This movie has it all: organ repossession, sexy girls, music, blood, and Paris Hilton.

See it before it disappears from limited release!

Bill Bailey: Tinselworm - I saw this live last year and it was fantastic. Watched the DVD and though I preferred it live it was still funny.

Babel - Brilliant film. At first I was afraid it was going to be a bit slow and drawn out but within five minutes the film had completely captivated me.

Step Brothers - Best Will Ferrell film in a really long time. I'll definitely watch this again at some point.
