Who knows. Partly because Jews have popped up as a minority and been successful in every nook and cranny of the world for thousands of years. Everyone likes a scapegoat, blood libels become reinvented, and people everywhere have someone in common to universally hate. There is also a resentment caused by a perception that Jews like to take advantage of their victim-hood. The race, religion, and culture thing confuses a lot of people. Cultural materials and education reinforce the stereotypes of Jews as a people of power, erasing their minority status, and it becomes socially acceptable to single them out. All that and some self hate too.
I like to pretend Adam Sandler's a Luthera, please don't ruin it for me.
