I had my security and privacy settings on low for a while so that I could run certain websites, and I think some programs installed themselves onto my computer. I keep getting pop-ups at random times, irregardless of whether or not I'm running a web browser or any program for that matter. I've run AdAware and Disk Cleanup and all that jazz until my computer's anus bled, and I'm still attacked by pop-ups and requests to download programs. I've investigated my task manager and found many conspicuous operations running UNDER MY NAME.
I even turned off the Windows Messenger option and restarted my computer. To no avail!
