every single vet i have ever gone to has strongly recommended that i do not declaw my cats. petsmart, who obtains their kittens from local animal shelters in the area, makes you sign a contract of sorts promising that you will not declaw your kitty.
it's a horrid, unnecessary surgical procedure.

do your own research. i can almost guarantee that you won't find one article stating that it's a good thing to rip your cat's claws out of it's toes.
