Try Runsaber on the SNES. It's good for some beat-em-up fun. Same with Genocide 2. Super Mario RPG also, if you've not played it yet. The Mystical Ninja series is chock-full of fun.
I'm surprised you've been able to play FFV for that long. I played it for roughly twenty minutes on Anthologies, and i was suffering. The battles took way too long to load, and i thought the character sprites (out of battle) were pretty ugly. I'm in the wind shrine now, hopefully it will pick up soon. I bet the game's better on SNES, just 'cos there's not stinkin' load time buffers between battles.
