I always personally thought the finger touchign scene was suppose to resemble the painting as a parody. I guess you could stretch that hes Christ. But Jesus wasn't an alien. He didn't come from the sky, he was born. Also ET didn't get his ass nailed to a cross. he did almost die in a river and then was "resurrected". I guess you have soemthing going there.
