Maw = Mom. Kind of an inside family joke. Ever since my family moved to the south, every now and then my mom will bust out into this extremely exaggerated Southern accent. So we all call her "Maw" as in "Say thar Maw and Paw... when are you gonna be fixin' up some chitlins and grits for us young'ins!?"
Anyway, yeah, the Bahamas is a crazy looking place. It's so surreal and remote.
