You must BE demanding when you go for a job. Walk right up to the manager and say
"I approve of the way you run this place, and I will be a valued member of your staff. I am open to work from this time to this time, and I can start ASAP. I am also open to sit down for a interview right now."
Overwhelm them and such. And if they say you will be back in a day or two.
