Propagandhi's "Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes" really blurs the line between punk and metal, if you're looking for some type of inspiration on how to do it right. Oh, and Loranhein, too.
The first two Strung Out CDs come to mind as well. "Another Day In Paradise" (I think) and "Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues".
