Xenogears was pretty much same old. They didn't do anything with the Mecha premise. At least not something Square's not done A MILLION TIMES BEFORE, ONLY WITH SQUIDS, POTATOES, CHOCOBOS OR MINUTE PEOPLE THAT LAUGH OUT LOUD AND TOSS COINS.
