Gemetria is indeed the format of the bible, the first five books of the old testament have a gemetria of sorts behind them which make it into the Qabalah, for example. Jesus' number is 888. Dunno about the nero thing, but the gemetria is done in greek, since every greek letter has a corresponding number behind it.
