I'm not homophobic, but terms like that have just been branded into my mind as negative. Besides, unless you're gay, you should just let gay people say that themselves. I have yet been told by a gay person to stop that, and I do it around them all the time. Sure it makes them uncomfortable, but they don't say anything.
