The constant interest is much about doing that which is considered deviant in that it is not needed for procreation but rather only to be enjoyed in itself. And yes I am aware the the rectal cavity shares an inner wall with the vagina, and yes, I know that the said nerve endings are much more easily stimulated via anal intercource and that generally a large percentage of women could under specific circumstance enjoy anal stimulation (as opposed to no stimulation at all). However, the percentage of women that would, for physical reasons have stronger vaginal orgasms by having anal sex rather than properly is extremely small. There's quite a few psychological reasons why a woman might enjoy anal sex (the thrill of doing something 'dirty' etc) but none of them are really enough to justify this modern fixation.
